BERRY VIBES 🍇🍷

Not every lip tattoo needs to be a full lipstick effect. Sometimes, it’s all about that beautifully flushed, softly defined wash of colour. ❤️

Lily wanted a more blush-like effect once healed, rather than a bold, fully saturated lip. Her colour inspiration was Whimsical by Wonderskin Lip Stain, with a little more berry and a little less pink. The result? A gorgeous, berry-kissed lip that enhances rather than overpowers.

This is where knowing when to stop really matters.

Achieving a soft, naturally flushed result requires real control over pigment implantation. It can be tempting to build more colour, but with these sheer effects, less really is more. The aim is to implant just enough pigment to create that delicate flush without crossing the line into a lipstick finish.

It’s not about how much colour I can put in; it’s about how precisely I can control the result. ✨

I also took the opportunity to subtly improve the balance and symmetry of Lily’s lips, adding a little fullness to her upper left side and gently rounding the lower lip. Small adjustments, but ones that make a difference to the overall harmony of the shape, creating the impression of added fullness without going overboard.

The beauty of this approach is that we can always build on the colour at the follow-up if Lily wants a little more intensity once healed. Starting softer gives us flexibility and choice.

I absolutely LOVE this berry tone, and I can’t wait to refine and perfect the result even further at her follow-up. 🍒

OMBRE LIPS ❤️

Ellie came to me wanting Ombre Lip Tattooing to add definition, colour and balance to her already beautifully filled lips.

Rather than simply following the natural lip shape, I carefully designed the template to subtly correct minor irregularities and create greater symmetry and balance within her overall features. And then came the fun part… getting creative. 🎨

The Ombre technique uses light and shade to create the illusion of added volume, with the colour graduating from a more defined lip line, softly diffusing towards the centre of the lips.

The result? More definition without making the lips look flat, heavy or harsh.

This is why I love this method. It isn’t just about adding colour — it’s about understanding shape, symmetry, light, shade and how the lips work with the rest of the face. It involves true artistry.

And honestly… I had SO much fun creating these. ❤️

CORRECTING THE ‘SAD BROW’ 🙌🏻 HEALED edition

Sometimes, the smallest and most subtle tweaks make the BIGGEST difference. Don’t forget to keep swiping to see how they looked immediately after too.

My client had a natural brow growth pattern that created a downward pull on the overall expression, giving her face a heavier, tired and ‘sad’ appearance.

The goal wasn’t to create a completely new brow or force an unnatural shape. It was to work with her existing features by making strategic adjustments to bring everything back into balance.

✨ So, what did I change?

▪️ Added height through the arch to create lift.

▪️ Lowered & extended the fronts to help rebalance the overall shape, further exaggerate that lift and soften the downward expression. This also compensated for previous over-plucking in this area, restoring better proportion and harmony with her bone structure.

Every adjustment was made individually to complement each brow and work with her unique facial anatomy. Because no two faces — or brows — are identical. A one-shape-fits-all approach simply doesn’t cut it.

The result? A more lifted appearance that helps the face look more awake, balanced and youthful. 🤌🏻

And one of my favourite things about this transformation? It still respects the majority of her natural brow growth pattern.

By working with what’s already there, rather than creating a shape that fights against it, I’ve achieved a beautiful result without the need for excessive maintenance afterwards in order to keep the illusion.

This is why I love the Ombré Brow tattooing method. It allows me to create shape, definition and balance while keeping the healed finish soft, diffused and flattering.

It’s not always about making the brows bigger, darker or bolder. Sometimes, it’s about knowing exactly what to change — and what to leave alone. 👌🏻

✨ Healed Ombre Lips ✨

This is what a HEALED Ombre Lip looks like — and I absolutely love how these have settled. 🤍

The only area that has been revisited is the outline of Mia’s top lip. When Mia originally came to me, she had quite a bit of existing scarring through this area. Scar tissue can behave very differently from normal lip tissue and, as a result, doesn’t always retain pigment as evenly. So once healed, I gave this small section of the outline a little boost to bring the definition back where it was needed. 💪🏼

Everything else you’re seeing here is her original healed result.

And you can really see the beauty of the Ombre Lip technique in the healed finish — that soft, blended gradient of colour creating a subtle, shadowy lip-liner effect.

Ombre Lips are particularly suited to clients who want that defined-but-blended lip liner effect, rather than an all-over colour.

Because of the way the shading and contrast need to be built, this technique is generally better suited to a fuller lip, where there is enough surface area to create that beautiful graduation from deeper definition to softer colour.
