One of the biggest myths surrounding dermaplaning is that it makes your facial hair grow back thicker, darker or coarser.

But let’s talk about the type of hair we’re actually removing…

The soft “peach fuzz” on your face is vellus hair — short, fine, soft and usually lightly pigmented.

This is different from terminal hair which is thicker, longer and more heavily pigmented.

When we dermaplane, we’re removing the fine vellus, non terminal hair from the surface of the skin. We aren’t changing the hair follicle, so we aren’t changing the type of hair it produces.

Your hair type is determined by things like your genetics and hormones, not by removing the hair from the surface of your skin.

So no… dermaplaning isn’t going to turn your peach fuzz into a beard 😂🤍

I’m Daisy, the face behind Painted Perfect 🤍 I’ve been doing nails since 2023 and I honestly feel so lucky that I get to do something I love every day.

I’m definitely a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my work (I’ll probably spend way too long making sure everything is just right 😂), and I love creating nails that feel like you, whether that’s a simple clean set or a little bit of nail art.

I’m a huge believer that your appointment should be more than just getting your nails done. I want my clients to feel comfortable, have a good chat, have a laugh and hopefully leave feeling a little more confident than when they walked in 🥹🤍

You’ll also usually find my little sidekick Minnie at the salon with me 🐶🤎 She’s my beautiful Pomeranian puppy and has basically become part of the team! Pearl and Minnie have become somewhat of a little duo and are very quickly becoming besties 😂🐶🐾

More recently, I’ve also fallen in love with pedicures, especially since learning about Elim, which has completely changed the way I look at foot care! 🦶🏼✨
