I wanted to share something a little more personal today.
As a skin specialist, I spend so much of my time talking about skin, treatments and skincare โ but that doesnโt mean my own skin is perfect.
Pregnancy actually gave me some of the best skin Iโve ever had. Since having Everly, my skin has completely changed.
Itโs become much drier, more reactive and sensitive, Iโve noticed more pigmentation, and products that previously worked beautifully for me can now leave my skin burning and irritated.
And thatโs the thing about hormones โ our skin can change with us.
Pregnancy, postpartum and hormonal changes can all affect our skin differently, so sometimes the routine that worked for you before simply isnโt what your skin needs now.
For me, Iโve stripped everything right back to the basics while I focus on repairing and calming my skin barrier.
Once my skin is happy again, Iโll start working on the pigmentation and slowly introduce other products โ one at a time.
And if my skin reacts, Iโll stop.
Because burning and irritation isnโt something you should just accept because you think a product is โworkingโ.
Sometimes your skin needs less, not more.
So if your skin has changed recently, be kind to it. Listen to what itโs telling you and donโt be afraid to go back to basics.
