Maternity leave has finally come around… 🥹🤍

After the most gorgeous, but also most challenging bridal season I’ve had to date, I think it’s finally time to put the brushes down for a little while.

Carrying this baby whilst driving hours to venues, lugging a hell of a lot of kit up and down stairs and trying to keep up with the busiest season yet has been very humbling, to say the least 😂

I’m so incredibly grateful to every single one of my beautiful brides for being so accommodating, patient and thoughtful with me throughout these past few months. Doing what I love whilst being very sicky and heavily pregnant hasn’t always been easy, but you’ve all made it so much easier. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 🤍

A massive, huge thank you to my assistant MUA SHANNON JADE | UK NORTH EAST MAKEUP ARTIST for being there for me through every single job, big or small, this year. You are such an incredible human and I feel so lucky to have had you by my side for over 7 years now. Your talent shines more and more every single year and I am so, so proud of you. 🤍

I’m officially on maternity leave from the makeup side of my business, with my final bridal bookings now done. I’ll be finishing up with my PMU clients next Friday, and then it’s officially time to slow down and soak up these last few weeks before we meet our little girl. 🍼🎀

I’m only taking a couple of months off to enjoy some precious time with my new little girly before I’m back doing what I love.

One last season as a makeup artist mum of 1… next season as a mum of two. 🤍

When Beth came for her first trial, she brought the kind of full-glam inspiration photos that so many makeup artists get shown. We recreated the look, but she also wanted to try something softer and asked what I personally felt would suit her best and enhance her natural features. So we booked a second trial to explore that, and on the wedding morning we went even softer.

Beth said to me on the day that she realised she had been trying to recreate a look that, deep down, just wasn’t her. I think so many brides feel this pressure when it comes to bridal hair and makeup after scrolling through endless Pinterest boards and social media images. It’s so easy to get caught up trying to look like someone else, when the most beautiful version of you is simply… you.

My biggest piece of bridal advice? Don’t chase trends or try to completely transform yourself. Enhance the features you already love, choose a look that feels authentic, and you’ll not only look timeless in your photos, you’ll feel comfortable and confident from the moment you walk down the aisle until the last dance. 🤍
