Most of you know me for SMP and brows, but behind the scenes, I’ve been building something else too.

I’m becoming increasingly interested in social commerce, building additional income streams, and connecting with other women who want to create something alongside what they already do.

And I think there’s a particularly exciting opportunity for those of you already working in hair, beauty and aesthetics. 🤍

Sometimes clients just hit you differently. 🤍

Meeting Mary this week has been one of those moments that reminds me why I love what I do.

I meet so many incredible women through my work, and every single one has her own story. But sometimes, someone just leaves a little bit more of a mark on you.

Mary is a warrior.

She’s battled cancer, navigated some incredibly difficult personal and family circumstances, whilst being a mum, a loving partner and someone who continues to work hard and keep smiling.

I’m not sharing her story for sympathy - quite the opposite.

It’s the fact that, through everything life has thrown at her, she’s still standing, still smiling and still being Mary. ❤️

So to be able to give her something as simple as a set of brows that made her feel a little more like her old self again was honestly phenomenal.

And this is the bit of my job I sometimes struggle to put into words.

Yes, I love the business.
Yes, I love creating beautiful brows.
Yes, I love having a business that fits around my life and my goals.

But I really love the people.

I get to sit with women, hear their stories, connect with them and be reminded that we’re all just navigating our own journeys.

And sometimes, I get to give someone a tiny piece of themselves back. 🤍

That’s pretty special.

And remember, these are NOT Mary’s finished brows yet.

Her brows will now go through their healing process, and the colour, shape and definition will soften and change over the next few weeks.

🚿 Are you actually washing your hair properly?

One of the biggest mistakes I see is people focusing on the hair… when actually, you need to start with the scalp.

When I wash my hair, I always shampoo twice.

✨ First wash: a small amount of shampoo, working it directly into the scalp. This is about cleansing away oil, sweat, product build-up and everyday impurities.

✨ Second wash: another small amount, and THIS is where you get that gorgeous lather! It allows you to properly cleanse the scalp and work the shampoo through the hair.

And here’s something else I’ve learned — you really don’t need loads of product when you’re using the right products and applying them correctly.

I’ve recently switched things up and I’m now using the MONAT BOND IQ™ range, after using IR Clinical exclusively for the last 12 months.

There’s something so lovely about seeing a client look in the mirror for the first time and realise that the brows they were nervous about… actually look completely like them.

This lovely lady came in for microblading and had been worried that her brows might end up too thick or that they wouldn’t feel like her.

So seeing this reaction when she saw the finished result? 🥰

This is exactly what I want every client to feel.

Not like they’ve got a completely different face.
Not like their brows are taking over.

I’m heading away for a two-week holiday, so I’m officially taking some time out before coming back ready for the final run into Christmas. ✈️☀️
