Our wonderful residents at Martins House have been getting creative with a lovely flower arranging session recently! 🌸 Everyone had a go at arranging artificial flowers in foam, choosing their own colours and putting together some beautiful displays πŸ’œ

Meanwhile, Brian has been busy out in the garden, planting winter bulbs and giving the rose bushes a good trim to help them flourish again in spring. It’s lovely to see everyone enjoying their own little projects, whether indoors or out in the garden 🌷

A big welcome to Melvin, our newest resident at Martins House! πŸ’œ

Melvin recently enjoyed a stroll to the local Oval Shopping Centre, having a good look around the shops. One place caught his eye in particular, a fish and chip shop he’s already looking forward to visiting when it opens! 🐟🍟

Originally from Notting Hill in London, Melvin has now settled in Stevenage, and it’s extra special to have his sister here at Martins House too. We’re so pleased to have them both with us and look forward to making lots of lovely memories together. Welcome to the family, Melvin! 😊

We had a wonderful opportunity to attend the Broadhall Suite at Stevenage Football Club hosted by the Stevenage FC Foundation alongside Music24 singers, who performed in their iconic Grease-style Pink Ladies jackets for a fantastic Dementia Disco! πŸŽΆπŸ’ƒ

It was a truly uplifting afternoon filled with music, dancing, and plenty of tea and cake β˜•πŸ°. The atmosphere was vibrant and full of joy, bringing together people from across the community to share in a special and memorable experience.

A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone involved in organising and supporting this event. Your hard work and dedication make such a meaningful difference to the lives of those living with dementia. ❀️

Together, we are creating precious memories and strengthening important community connections that truly matter.

Our Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning was a lovely morning at Martins House! β˜•οΈπŸ’š

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, enjoyed a cuppa and helped us collect donations on the day. We’ve also had some very kind donations online, so our total is still growing!

It was wonderful to see everyone come together and support such an important cause. Every donation, big or small, really does make a difference πŸ’š

A little creativity and sparkle at Martins House this week πŸ’œβœ¨

Our wonderful residents enjoyed making their own jewellery, choosing colourful beads and creating pieces to suit their own style. There was plenty of sharing of ideas and helping each other along the way, with everyone proudly showing off their finished creations.

We’re already looking forward to seeing what they come up with at the next session! πŸ“ΏπŸŽ¨

A little rainbow of creativity at Martins House πŸŒˆπŸ’œ

Our wonderful residents enjoyed making sand art jars, carefully layering different colours to create their own colourful designs. Everyone had their own way of choosing and mixing the sands, and it was lovely seeing the finished jars take shape.

A simple activity, but one that gave us plenty of time to chat, get creative and enjoy being together 🎨

It was off to the races at Martins House recently! πŸ‡πŸŽ‰

Our wonderful residents picked their favourite horses, placed their bets and settled in to cheer them on. There was plenty of excitement as the races unfolded, along with some lovely company and a few snacks along the way.

A big congratulations to Margaret and Carol, our winners on the day! πŸ₯‡πŸ† Well done, ladies! πŸ’œ
