Your lip shape, tissue thickness, natural asymmetry, lip proportions and existing volume all influence how filler can be placed and how your lips will respond. The same technique or amount of filler can produce completely different results on two clients.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a substance naturally found in our bodies that helps retain moisture and support tissue. Dermal fillers use cross-linked HA gels, which have different properties depending on their formulation.

Some are softer and more flexible, while others offer more structure and support. Choosing the appropriate product matters because the lips are constantly moving, and the filler needs to work with their natural dynamics rather than against them.

The amount of filler, injection depth, placement and technique all influence the final result. Your tissue also responds individually to filler, including how it accommodates the gel and how swelling settles.

Respecting the tissue capacity - following aftercare - creating the treatment plan to suit your goals - all require the staged approach.
Sometimes more than one treatment is needed within the same area for optimum results …
