COLOUR THEORY • CREATIVE EYES • STUDENT TRAINING 🎨

For this stage of training, we wanted to take my student well outside of her comfort zone.

Rather than staying within the safety of traditional, neutral eyeshadow tones, we went straight into colour, creativity and artistic application.

Inspired by the bold, highly creative era of Makeup by Mitchell, James Charles and 2016 Instagram makeup, this was a deliberately challenging look designed to develop her understanding of colour placement, blending, balance and creative expression.

With no previous eyeshadow confidence or experience, she worked alongside me, half of the face demonstrated and coached,
the other half independently recreated by her. With the right guidance, technique and encouragement, she absolutely rose to the challenge.

She completed her assessment, passed with flying colours, and most importantly, walked away with a completely new level of confidence in her ability to create.

This is what great makeup education is about: not simply teaching a look, but teaching the artist how to understand, adapt and create.
