Life rn.
Obviously your haircut needs to be fu***ng good.
But once you’re already technically capable, there’s a point where another 5% improvement in your fade isn’t necessarily what makes someone happily pay you £20 more.
I’d look at the whole experience.
👉🏼 Consultation
Do you actually understand what they want, or just ask “same again mate?”
👉🏼 Time
Does the service feel considered or like you’re racing the clock because the next client’s already waiting?
👉🏼 Communication
Can you explain what you’re doing and why it’ll suit them?
👉🏼 Consistency
Does someone know they’ll get the same standard every time?
👉🏼 How they feel leaving
Because clients aren’t inspecting every blend under a fu***ng microscope.
They’re judging the whole experience of trusting you with how they look.
Technical ability gets you into the game.
Perceived value is what gives you room to charge differently.
So before putting your price up and hoping people accept it:
Ask yourself whether you’ve actually made the service worth more.

Follow if you’re trying to become more valuable, not just busier.
1. Being fully booked isn’t the end goal.
It’s a fu***ng brilliant milestone.
But if you’re already busy and the only way you know how to progress is adding more appointments, eventually something has to change.
2. The best barber doesn’t automatically build the best career.
Technical ability matters massively.
But so do positioning, communication, relationships, content and actually putting yourself in front of opportunities.
I’ve worked with Premier League footballers.
I’m not going to pretend that means I’m technically the best barber in the country.
I figured some other s**t out too.
3. Opening a shop isn’t automatically progression.
I’ve owned two.
A shop can be brilliant.
It can also give you rent, staff problems and a bigger fu***ng overhead without actually giving you a better life.
Build the career you want, not the one barbering tells you you’re supposed to want.
That’s probably the biggest thing I’ve learnt.
There’s no single correct version of success in this industry.
But there should be some intention behind yours.
