The risk of a VO is rare; however, it must be explained as part of the aftercare following every treatment. It’s important that clients understand that, although rare, a vascular occlusion can happen regardless of how experienced or qualified your practitioner is, or how safely the treatment is carried out.

If you’re planning to go on holiday, ideally you should have your treatment at least 3 weeks before travelling. This allows enough time to monitor your results and, should any complications arise, gives you time to seek appropriate assessment and treatment before you travel.

Safety and thorough aftercare are essential — being informed and knowing what to look out for can make all the difference.
