β¨ FOLLOW MY SKIN JOURNEY | WEEK 4 β¨
4 weeks inβ¦ and Iβm really starting to notice a difference! π€
Looking at my skin now compared with where I started, Iβm really pleased with how itβs looking and feeling.
Top right is first week, bottom right week 3 and bottom left week 4.
β¨ Skin feels clearer
β¨ Fewer acne breakouts
β¨ Smoother-looking texture
β¨ Skin feels healthy and hydrated
⨠And importantly⦠no dryness or peeling!
A big part of my routine is Tretinoin, so I thought Iβd explain a little more about how Iβve introduced it.
Tretinoin is a prescription retinoid which can help with acne, pigmentation, uneven skin tone, texture and fine lines over time.
But when introducing it, slow and steady is key. Your skin needs time to adjust, and using too much or too frequently can cause unnecessary irritation.
π My PM routine:
Cleanse β Tretinoin β Simple moisturiser
I use a small, pea-sized amount on completely dry skin and have gradually introduced it according to how my skin is tolerating it.
βοΈ And every morning, SPF 50 is a must, particularly when Iβm working on pigmentation.
Iβm only 4 weeks in, so Iβm definitely not expecting overnight results. Thereβs still a long way to go β but Iβm really happy with the changes so far!
Real skin. No filters. Just my journey. π€
Next stopβ¦ Week 5! π
My routine is based on my individual skin and prescribing advice. Tretinoin is prescription-only and isnβt suitable for everyone.

β¨ WHY HAS MENOPAUSE CHANGED MY SKIN? β¨
Ever wondered why you can suddenly develop acne, pigmentation and uneven skin tone during perimenopause or menopause β even if you never struggled with them before?
π©· Hormonal changes
As oestrogen levels decline, androgens can have more influence on the skin. This can increase oil production, congestion and inflammation β leading to those frustrating hormonal breakouts, often around the chin, jawline and lower face.
π€ Hyperpigmentation
Hormonal changes can stimulate pigment-producing cells, while inflammation from acne can leave behind post-inflammatory pigmentation.
βοΈ Sun exposure
UV exposure can make existing pigmentation darker and more noticeable.
π§ Changes in the skin barrier
Menopausal skin can become drier and more sensitive, making irritation and inflammation more likely.
So you can end up in a frustrating cycle:
Hormonal changes β acne β inflammation β pigmentation β more noticeable uneven skin tone.
This is exactly why Iβve started my own Obagi skincare journey β targeting my menopausal acne, pigmentation, texture and hydration.
Iβm currently using Tretinoin, Obagi Vitamin C 15%, Pore Therapy & Hydrate Luxe, alongside professional treatments.
Iβm sharing my journey week by week β real skin, no filters, no hiding the imperfections. π€

So⦠how is my skin looking after 3 weeks?
Iβm starting to notice some changes, but itβs definitely still a work in progress! Menopausal skin can be unpredictable, and Iβm expecting this to be a journey rather than an overnight transformation.
Iβll keep sharing the good, the bad and everything in between β no filters, just my real skin journey. π€
