Why is salon lighting SO HUMBLING?! 😭😂

I went to get my hair done, caught sight of my skin and genuinely thought… when did I start looking like Madge from Benidorm?! 🫠☀️😂

Dry, dull, leathery-looking… absolutely NOT. ⚖️

Now, I’ll admit, I desperately need to sort my skincare routine out because I’ve run out of half of it 🙃 but until then, I needed an immediate intervention.

I’m not claiming it gave me my youth back 😂 but it definitely gave me my GLOW back. My skin looked fresh, healthy and luminous again instead of like I’d spent 40 years sunbathing in Benidorm.

I’ve been using the Garnier Banana Hair Food and one thing I love is that you’re not limited to just using it on soaking wet hair in the shower.
💦 Wet hair – use it as your traditional nourishing hair treatment.
🚿 Towel-dried hair – use a small amount through the lengths as a leave-in.
✨ Dry hair – a tiny amount through the ends when they’re feeling dry and need a little extra smoothing.
It contains a banana & shea butter blend and is made especially with dry hair in mind — which my hair definitely appreciates! 😂🍌
I’m still using and testing this properly, so as always, I’ll keep you updated on how my hair actually gets on with it.

Off I went to my bestie’s salon, The Hair Lab on Portsmouth Road, Southampton, for the full works!

First, the extensions came OUT 👋🏼
Then Keely worked her magic on my natural hair with a gorgeous balayage/highlight refresh ✨

Once the colour was done, it was time to get all my extensions back in. Keely started them off, then Ruby took over, finished the rest and styled everything into these gorgeous soft beachy waves 🌊🤎

And THIS is the finished result 😍

Summer’s over… but we’re keeping the glow 🍂✨
As we head into autumn, I’m switching things up — from my skincare right through to the brown eyeshadow and brown lips 🤎😂
I’ve been trying the NEW CeraVe Brightening Vitamin C Lotion, designed to visibly reduce the appearance of pigmentation, dark patches and uneven skin tone while helping to strengthen the skin barrier.
It contains a Vitamin C derivative and 3 essential ceramides, and what I’ve noticed straight away is how lightweight and fast-absorbing it feels. No heavy or greasy feeling afterwards 🙌🏼 It’s also fragrance-free.
Obviously, pigmentation and uneven skin tone aren't going to disappear overnight, so this is one I want to keep using and see how my skin changes over time. 👀
But first impressions? My skin feels lovely, hydrated and ready for my favourite season…
