5 skin changes nobody warns you about in menopause 👇
It’s Menopause Awareness Month, and skin is one of the things my patients tell me they feel least prepared for.
As oestrogen falls, your skin changes too:
1⃣ Dryness that your usual moisturiser can’t fix
2⃣ Loss of firmness and bounce
3⃣ Thinner, more delicate skin
4⃣ New sensitivity or flushing
5⃣ Breakouts or pigmentation you haven’t had in years
If any of these sound familiar, you’re not imagining it, and you’re definitely not on your own. These changes are normal, and there’s a lot we can do to support your skin through them.
Next up, I’ll be sharing what actually helps. Follow along so you don’t miss it 🤍

Promise this is the last TAMC post for a while… but I had to make sure these made it onto my grid 🪩
You’ve seen my phone snaps. These are the proper ones, and between them they sum up the week: some of me on stage talking radiofrequency, and one from the Cosmic Disco with some of my favourite people in this industry.
Presenting at The Aesthetic Medicine Congress was a real highlight of my year. Standing up in front of a room full of clinicians I’ve learned so much from is nerve-wracking in the best possible way.
Thank you TAMCongress for having me, and to this lot for the laughs and the dancing 🤍
Normal service has resumed. Mostly.
Money can’t buy happiness… but it can buy a rather lovely upper lip 💋
Let’s be honest: lip filler won’t empty your inbox, shrink your to-do list or stop anyone leaving wet towels on the floor. No treatment fixes life, and I’d never pretend otherwise.
What it can do is give you that little lift when you catch your reflection. And sometimes feeling a bit more like yourself is all it takes to face the rest with your head held high.
Subtle, natural, and always starting with a proper chat about what’s right for you.
Curious? Message me to book a consultation ✨
Why does it matter that your aesthetics practitioner is a doctor? 🩺
For me, it comes down to one word: safety. I’ve spent over 22 years learning anatomy, and I use it every single day, both here in clinic and in general practice.
Knowing what’s beneath the skin, and exactly how each product works, shapes every decision I make. In an industry that’s still unregulated in the UK, that knowledge is how I look after my patients. 🤍

Notes from an amazing trip to the TAMC Congress in Dubrovnik. ✨
Last week I was invited back to the TAMC stage for a second year. This time I was part of the Advanced Rising Star Session. Speakers are given their topic, so mine took me well outside my day-to-day. I learned as much preparing it as I did presenting it.
TAMC brings together practitioners from all over the world to share research, technique and honest conversations about where our field is heading. Continual learning is a big part of how I practise. Every congress, course and conversation feeds back into the care you get in clinic.
Thank you to Tapan Patel Nikola Milojević Tatjana Pavicic and the TAMCongress team for having me, to Dr Steven Land - Aesthetics | Complications Cheryl Cain | The Good Skin Guru™ Moonika Sibul | AESTHETICS Anna Makaronskaja | esteetilise meditsiini õde 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗿𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 for the brilliant company, and to everyone who came to say hello afterwards.
Back in clinic this week with a notebook full of ideas. 💙
Things I’m not thinking about yet:
🎄 Christmas shopping
🎅 Santa visits
🦃 Who’s hosting this year
Things I AM thinking about:
✨ Your festive glow-up (because the diary gets busy sooner than you think 👀)
Future you will thank you. Book your consultation via the link in bio 💛
What skincare recommendations do you have? 🤔 It’s the question I get asked more than any other...
We’ve all been seduced by skincare with pretty packaging and a beautiful scent on the high street. I get it, I’ve been there too. But when you’re stood in front of that shelf, ask yourself: does it actually contain the right actives, at the right concentration, to do what your skin actually needs?
As we get older, our skin needs more than something that just feels lovely to use, it needs to earn its keep! Medical-grade skincare is formulated differently: higher concentrations of active ingredients, backed by clinical evidence, designed to pe*****te where it counts. That’s the difference between skincare that sits on the surface and skincare that actually works.
That’s episode 3 (and the final one!) of Back to School with Dr Cei 🎒 hope this series has helped you feel more informed about the treatments and products that might be right for you.

📢 Booking system update
I’m switching my patient booking system back to ANS this week. Collums will be sending my data across on Thursday 24th Sept, and ANS will then be working to get everything set up as quickly as possible, hopefully by the end of that day. If it takes a little longer, it may not be ready until Monday 28th Sept.
During this short period, the online booking system may not be available. If you’d like to book an appointment or make any changes, just drop me an email at [email protected] and I’ll sort it for you 🤍
Hopefully it will all be smooth sailing, but I wanted to let you know in advance. Thank you for your patience!
Back to School with Dr Cei 🎒📚 — Lesson 2: Retinoids
Class is back in session! Today’s subject: retinoids, and this one comes with three grades. Retinol, retinal and tretinoin all belong to the same family, but they sit at very different levels on the strength scale, and knowing the difference can save your skin a lot of trial and error.
So, which grade do you think your skin’s currently working at? 👇
Retinol is your gentle starter, building tolerance over time. Retinaldehyde (retinal) sits in the middle - a bit more potency, a bit less irritation than the top grade. And tretinoin is the prescription-strength heavy-hitter, the one most backed by evidence but needing the most respect.
Getting the strength right (and building up properly) makes all the difference between glowing skin and an angry, flaky face.
As always, product recommendations are tailored following a full consultation.
Back to School with Dr Cei 🎒📚 Lesson 1: Skinboosters
Class is in session! Today’s subject: skinboosters, and there’s a lot to cover. There are so many options out there right now (Celora Vita, Restylane Skinboosters, Skinvive...) and honestly, the differences matter. Each one brings something a little different to the table (hydration, glow, bounce - sometimes all three).
So, which one’s making it onto YOUR timetable? 👇
Comment BOOST and consider it your homework done! I’ll send the full lesson notes (aka the treatment breakdown) straight to your DMs. No revision required. 🍎
As always, all treatments are tailored following a full consultation.
