Apparently I had more hills to die on 😂👀

And these are a few of the things I will always stand by as a bridal makeup artist.

Some might be controversial, some I will absolutely die on a hill over, and some I genuinely wish every bride knew before their wedding morning.

After years of doing weddings week in, week out, you definitely learn what matters, what really doesn’t, and what can make a HUGE difference to how you feel on the morning.

A little 5 minute no makeup makeup 🤎

If I’m not seeing clients, I’ll quite often go without makeup, but after the gym the other day, I wanted to put on a little bit on ready for my admin day.

No foundation, super quick & simple. Proof you really don’t need a full face to make a little difference & feel abit more alive 😅

A day in the life… Monday admin day 🤎

1. Starting the day with tea, this was actually after I got back & showered from the gym

2. Gym done. I’ve been trying SO hard to stay consistent with this lately who even am I?

3. A no makeup makeup for me today today, no foundation & almost as minimal as I can get 😆

4. Car service day, so I packed up the laptop and turned Volkswagen into the Luxe office for a few hours. Made even nicer by being looked after by one of my past brides, Charlotte. I seem to be bumping into past Luxe brides everywhere I go at the minute and I LOVE it 🥹🤍

5. Website work. One of those jobs that is permanently on the list and somehow there is ALWAYS something that needs updating, fuelled by the coffee machine at VW

6. Towel washing, folding and restocking. One of the many less glamorous sides of Luxe 😂

7. Quick stop to sort these two out 🐰 because apparently their preferred way of eating hay is sitting directly IN the box of it. 😂

8. And back on the laptop tonight because obviously admin never actually end when the working day does

Just a very normal little Monday behind the scenes of Luxe. 🤎 I’m actually really enjoying sharing more of what goes on around the makeup rather than only ever showing you the finished faces.

Her beautiful bridesmaids and mum Kirstin were an absolute pleasure to get ready, and I loved spending the morning with this lovely lot before we all headed off to celebrate Ellen.

For the makeup, it was all about making everyone feel amazing while still feeling like themselves. Pretty, polished, glowy and individual to each person.

My gorgeous bride Ellen asked for bronzed, ad glowy, and I don’t think we could have hit the brief any better. Everything about this look just worked on her and she looked absolutely incredible.

This was a particularly special wedding for me because I’ve known Ellen since she was tiny. She was actually one of my bridesmaids when I got married 13 years ago, so being asked to do her bridal makeup all these years later was pretty special in itself… but I was also lucky enough to be invited to the wedding and celebrate with her afterwards. 🤍

And what a wedding it was. London double decker buses, St James’s Park drinks reception, incredjble live music, and a gorgeous venue at the The Royal Horseguards Hotel

There was also something very satisfying about actually attending one of my bride’s weddings for once and getting to admire my work all day. 😂 And I can confirm, Ellen’s makeup looked just as beautiful hours later as it did when she left my chair.
