Your skin barrier is the outer layer of your skin and helps to keep moisture in while protecting your skin from things that can irritate it.

When it's not very happy, you might notice:

• Increased sensitivity
• Itching or irritation
• Flaky or rough skin
• Your usual products suddenly not feeling quite right

There are lots of things that can affect your skin barrier, so sometimes it's about going back to basics and giving your skin a little more care rather than adding lots more products.
