CLIENT SPOTLIGHT — ANTHONY CAFFREY 🧡
A massive moment for one of Becky’s mobile physiotherapy clients, Anthony.
Becky has been working with Anthony for the past 3 months through our mobile physio service, with his rehabilitation focused around becoming fitter, stronger and more independent.
One of Anthony’s big goals was to progress to the point where he could complete a gym session at Hale Training Club.
And he did it. 👏
This is what progress is all about.
Not everyone’s goal is returning to a football pitch or running a marathon. Sometimes it’s about being able to move better, become more independent and feel confident doing the things that matter to you.
A massive shoutout to Anthony for all the hard work he’s put in over the past three months and to Becky for the care, support and quality of rehabilitation she’s provided throughout his journey. 🧡
At Forge Injury & Performance, we work with a wide range of people with one common goal:
Helping you move better, live more independently and improve your quality of life.
🏠 MOBILE PHYSIOTHERAPY NOW AVAILABLE
If you or a loved one would benefit from physiotherapy in the comfort of your own home, our mobile appointments are led by Becky Stone — HCPC Registered Physiotherapist.

FORGE × HALE TRAINING CLUB 🔋
For the past year, Hale Training Club has been the home of our gym-based rehabilitation and performance work.
And it’s a huge part of what makes the Forge approach different.
Having access to a state-of-the-art gym, full gym floor and extensive equipment means our rehabilitation doesn’t have to stop when someone becomes pain-free.
We have the environment to properly rebuild them.
At Hale Training Club we can make rehab:
📈 Progressive — increasing load and difficulty as you improve
🏋️ Challenging — rebuilding genuine strength and physical capacity
🔄 Varied — using different equipment, exercises and training methods
🎯 Specific — preparing you for the demands of your sport or training
⚡ Performance-focused — progressing towards running, jumping, landing, lifting and changing direction
MORE THAN JUST PAIN RELIEF.
Our goal is long-term rehabilitation that helps you become stronger, more resilient and confident enough to return to the things you love doing.
ASSESS → TREAT → REBUILD → PERFORM 🔋
A massive thank you to the team at Hale Training Club for supporting us over the past year and providing an environment where we can deliver the standard of rehabilitation we want for our clients. 🧡

Adductor Longus Tear Rehabilitation | BJJ & Wrestling Athlete Shane Kennedy 🔋
After picking up a groin injury during a wrestling takedown a few weeks ago and seeing little improvement, Shane came into Forge for an initial injury assessment.
During the session we:
🔸 Assessed the injury and current function
🔸 Identified the key areas limiting his recovery
🔸 Treated the affected area
🔸 Started early-stage rehabilitation
🔸 Provided a personalised home exercise programme to keep him progressing outside the clinic
The goal now is to progressively rebuild adductor strength, movement capacity and confidence, before gradually exposing Shane back to the demands of BJJ and wrestling.
Great work mate, always an honour having you down at Forge 🤝

Supporting an incredible cause 🧡
The Azaylia Foundation fundraiser Matthew O'Connor came into Forge for a lower-body focused recovery session as he prepares for a huge challenge this September.
Matthew and Joe will be taking on an incredible 400-mile run in just 9 days, starting at Manchester Children’s Hospital, visiting a number of children’s hospitals along the way and finishing at West Midlands Safari Park. 🏃♂️
With such a demanding challenge ahead, the session focused on lower-body recovery, mobility and helping manage the demands of his training as the event gets closer.
Any donations towards Matthew & Joe’s fundraising efforts would be massively appreciated and will help support the incredible work of The Azaylia Foundation 🧡
It’s an honour for Forge to support two guys putting themselves through such a huge physical challenge for an amazing cause.
Good luck lads, the whole Forge team is behind you! 🧡🧡

NEW SERVICE — PULSIO RECOVERY BOOTS 🔋
Even JM Rehabilitation needs to put his feet up between clients from time to time 😂
We’re now offering Pulsio compression boot recovery sessions at Forge, available as an add-on to your appointment or as a standalone recovery session.
💷 £10 — 20 mins added to your Forge session
💷 £20 — 20 min standalone session
WHAT DO RECOVERY BOOTS DO? 🦵
The boots use intermittent pneumatic compression, repeatedly compressing and releasing the legs.
They can be a useful recovery tool to:
🔸 Temporarily increase circulation in the legs
🔸 Help reduce the feeling of heavy or tired legs
🔸 Support short-term recovery after hard training
🔸 Help manage post-exercise soreness
🔸 Provide a relaxing recovery option between training sessions
HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU USE THEM?
There isn’t one perfect frequency.
For most athletes, 1–3 sessions per week around demanding training or competition can be a practical starting point. They can also be used after particularly tough sessions or during congested training periods.
Recovery boots are an addition to good recovery, not a replacement for it.
Your sleep, nutrition, hydration and appropriate training load still do the heavy lifting. 📈
Want to try them? 🔋

STILL STRUGGLING WITH YOUR ANKLE AFTER A SPRAIN? 🦶
Ankle feeling painful, swollen, weak or unstable weeks after you injured it?
At Forge, we specialise in lower-limb injuries, including ankle sprains, and have helped a range of athletes and active individuals successfully return to training and sport.
An ankle sprain shouldn’t just be “rest it until it feels better.”
Here’s how we approach it 👇
1️⃣ DIAGNOSE THE INJURY
Using clinical reasoning and a detailed MSK assessment, we assess the structures involved and build a working diagnosis to guide your rehabilitation.
2️⃣ RULE OUT SERIOUS INJURY 🚩
Fractures and significant ligament injuries need to be identified and managed appropriately.
If we suspect further investigation is required, we’ll refer for imaging or specialist review before progressing your rehabilitation.
3️⃣ TEST — DON’T GUESS 📊
Baseline testing allows us to identify your current deficits and actually measure your progress.
We can assess:
• Ankle range of motion
• Strength & capacity
• HHD strength testing
• Balance & proprioception
• Functional performance
4️⃣ MANAGE THE EARLY STAGES
Initially, the focus is on managing pain and swelling, restoring movement and gradually increasing how much load the ankle can tolerate.
Hands-on treatment can play a role — but treatment alone isn’t rehabilitation.
5️⃣ REHAB THE SH*T OUT OF IT 🔋
This is the most important part.
Ankle sprains can become recurrent, particularly when someone returns to sport before rebuilding the physical qualities their ankle needs.
Our goal is to progressively restore:
Mobility → Strength → Balance → Plyometrics → Running → Change of Direction → Sport-Specific Performance 📈
We don’t just want your ankle to feel better.
We want it strong, confident and prepared for the demands of your sport.

New Forge Athlete — 📈 HTC member & Applied nutrition coach 🔋
Great first session with Liam, focusing on lower-body recovery, mobility and performance 🙌
Alongside the recovery work, we took a deeper look into Liam’s current training and mobility routine, identifying areas where we can help him perform better, recover properly and stay consistent with his training.
This is what the Forge Athlete programme is all about not just treating injuries, but helping athletes get more from their training, recovery and performance.
