There was a time when I genuinely thought working myself into the ground was something to be proud of.

72 hour working weeks. Yes, I actually used to do that.

I thought the more hours you worked, the harder working and more successful you were. Exhaustion meant dedication, having no time for yourself meant ambition, and burnout was apparently just part of being successful.

Looking back, I couldn't have been more wrong.

You can absolutely love your job and still need a life outside of it.

These days, I still work incredibly hard, but I've learnt to prioritise myself too.

I choose my working hours, make time for rest days, book those holidays, explore new places and do the things that genuinely make me happy.

And ironically, putting myself first has made me so much better at what I do 🤍

Because when you walk into my clinic, you're getting 110% of me.

Not the exhausted, irritable, overworked version who's running on empty.

You're getting someone who's present, patient, passionate and genuinely excited to see you, catch up with you, listen to you and help you feel more confident in yourself.

Because as much as I love the treatments I do, I love the people, the conversations and the relationships I've built along the way just as much.

Looking after myself isn't taking anything away from my clients. It's allowing me to give them the very best of me.

I still have goals. I'm still ambitious. I just no longer believe I have to sacrifice my own happiness to prove how hardworking I am.

Because success to me isn't about how many hours I work anymore. It's about building a life I love, doing a job I love, and actually having the time and energy to enjoy both.
