Just a little update 🤍

I’ve had a LOT going on behind the scenes these last couple of weeks and honestly, I don’t know where the time has gone.

As most of you know, I’ve had my preventative surgery and I’m still very much in the early stages of recovery.
@ I had a ni**le sparing operation, one of the things they have to keep a close eye on afterwards is the blood supply to the ni**le. Sometimes after this type of surgery the blood supply can be reduced, which can cause some of the skin around the ni**le to start showing signs of necrosis, which is what mine is showing …. so I’ve had to go back to North Manchester twice this week to have it checked.

I’ve got another appointment with my surgeon tomorrow which has actually been brought forward 🙏so hopefully I’ll know a lot more about how it’s healing and what they recommend going forward.

On top of all of that, I sadly lost my mum on the same day as my operation literally 7 hours before I was in theatre , I’ve been sat at home recovering whilst also trying to organise my mum’s funeral and deal with everything that comes with losing someone.
It’s been a lot physically and emotionally and I’m only just starting to process everything.

I’ve been trying to keep myself occupied in between all of that & starting little pamper days ,doing my skincare and just trying to feel a bit more like myself again., finally Ian managed to wash my hair which was on day 11 (thank god for dry shampoo 😂) and was very comical with Ian straddling my back washing it for me whilst head was over the bath 🙃

I’m really missing work and all my lovely clients though, and I’m definitely itching to get back.

When I do return, I’m going to take it steady.
I’ll start with gentler treatments that I’m comfortable doing and gradually build things back up rather than throwing myself straight back into everything and overdoing it.

I’ll announce my return date as soon as I know when I’m ready.

🖤 Let’s talk about blocked pores, blackheads & extractions…

One of the things I’ll always check during a facial is whether your skin needs extractions.

But why do we get blocked pores in the first place?

Our skin naturally produces sebum (oil) to protect and lubricate the skin. We also shed dead skin cells every day. Sometimes that oil, dead skin cells and other debris can build up inside a pore and create a blockage.

When that blockage is exposed to air, it can oxidise and turn dark — hello blackhead! 🖤

Whiteheads are similar, but the blockage remains beneath the surface, so it appears as a little white or flesh-coloured bump.

✨ So what can you do at home?

• Cleanse properly morning and evening to remove oil, SPF, makeup and daily grime.
• Don’t over-scrub! Harsh scrubs can irritate the skin and don’t necessarily clear the blockage.
• Consider an ingredient such as salicylic acid (BHA) — it’s oil-soluble, so it can travel into the pore and help loosen built-up oil and dead skin cells.
• Moisturise — even oily or congested skin needs hydration.
• SPF every day — especially important when using exfoliating ingredients. ☀️
• And please… don’t attack your pores with your nails! 😂 Squeezing at home can cause inflammation, scarring and pigmentation.

And this is where professional facials can help too. During your treatment I’ll assess your skin and, where extractions are actually needed, gently clear suitable congestion rather than squeezing everything in sight.

The aim isn’t to strip your skin — it’s to keep the skin barrier happy while managing congestion. 🤍

If your skin is feeling congested, bumpy or full of those annoying little blackheads, a facial can be a lovely reset.

Today’s treatments included 2 x skin tag removal clients, 3 areas of anti wrinkle, a chin Anti wrinkle top up, a lip blush top up, lips, nose to mouth lines, cannula work using fine filler for crepey skin following weight loss, Dermaplane and finished off with a Microdermabrasion facial.

I honestly love how varied my days are , no two clients or treatment plans are ever the same 💆‍♀️💉

So what actually is NCTF 135HA?
