But let’s face it, they’re not your curls.

So how do you decide what to buy? What to use? And, more importantly, how to actually use it to work for your hair?

That is exactly why I created Curls Club.

I work with different curl types every single day. I understand how different hair behaves, how to get the best out of it, what products to use and, importantly, why you’re using them.

And I want to show you how to do that for yourself.

It’s all very well watching me style your hair. I can show you a video online. You can watch 100 videos and be sold another product thats going to change your life but how do you actually put it into practice on your own curls? What is the best way to style your hair?

I bloody love doing hair!

With all the education, talking about curls, Curls Club and everything else I do, sometimes I forget to actually show you the thing that started all of it.

The hair.

I love looking at what’s in front of me, working out what it needs and bringing out the very best of what is already there.

No one curl formula. No trying to make everybody’s hair look the same.
Just great hair, for real people.

And yep… I probably need to remember to take more photos of it. 😂

What would you like to see?

Aww a curl fairy story, can it be true? No styling with 47 products and a prayer? Yes, it really is this simple!
For these gorgeous coils this is the process we used at my Curl Confidence class on Monday...

Add curl cream, brush through. Add gel, brush through and style using curl defining brush. Gently squeeze the excess water out GENTLY with a microfibre towel or tshirt.

Diffuse. Don't faff, don't scruch, leave it the curl alone! You can do what you want when those beauts are dry.

Ok, they're dry! Didn't take too long either! Hands in ruffle, don't be scared the curls are dry, add texture spray to get volume! These coils were created to be BIG!

It's easy to feel lost, lose sight of who you are. I hear this a lot from women that I meet eveyday.

It's so easy isn't it? Our lives change, we change, it's hard to keep up. We live in a world that's so loud. So much comparison.

What we should wear, what we should eat, what we should look like, feel like. How we should age- or not! What should our home look like. How should our hair look... and on and on and on.

Who are we really? Individually I mean. What really brings you joy? Do you even remember?

We often say things like "I used to do that" I used to to wear...." "I wish I could..." I'd love to..."

We should try one of those things that we used to and remember how it makes us feel. Step out of the noise.

One of the things I love about being a hairdresser is that I have the ability to connect with people and make them FEEL wonderful. To help them see themselves. To actually connect on a human level.

Remember, we are individuals. We aren't an algorithm, there is only us. It's amazing that you don't look like Jane, it's incredible that your hair isn't like Jo's. It's glorious that your home isn't like Rachels. I love that your duvet is mismatched. The joy & imperfection of us all needs to be celebrated!

You are you. Remember her? Even if it's just for a minute, slow down and celebrate her.

Let's try and do less watching other peoples lives online and wishing we were different. We are all different, that's the point! 🌟
