Holistic Massage is an individual massage treatment, specifically tailored to you as the client. It follows no fixed routine and focuses on more than just superficial aches and pains that you may have. A holistic approach treats the whole body, and I take into account your emotional and spiritual wellbeing, as well as your physical body. I work in a flexible way, determined by your needs at the time that we work together. I am able to use a wide range of massage techniques including gentle massage, stretches, relaxation work, deep tissue and incorporating myofascial release techniques. I am also trained in scar release techniques and can work with people with a historic or current oncology diagnosis. I have seen first hand the benefits that holistic massage therapy can bring to peoples' mental and physical wellbeing. As a person who lives with inflammatory arthritis myself, I want to share with others the benefits that regular massage therapy can bring to the physical body. I have also worked for over 30 years in the field of mental health and wellbeing, supporting people with mental health conditions and learning disabilities to live a fulfilling life, seeing the positive effect that massage can bring to the mind, body and soul. I’m supporting World Haemochromatosis Week.
I’d never heard of this condition before February, when it was discovered that I might have it. I’m still waiting for the results of a genetic test to know if I have this, but it’s a little known condition that affects around 1 in 150 people in the UK - they just don’t know they have it.
I’ve included the link to the NHS information on the condition - if you have any of the common symptoms, please ask your GP to check you out for it. The symptoms do mirror so many other conditions (including Rheumatoid Arthritis in my case).

2nd day of a weekend of training on hands free techniques. Looking forward to sharing these skills with my clients.
Unfortunately, I’m still closed to new clients - my existing clients are too loyal! I will make contact with people on my waiting list this month to see if you’re still interested.

The cat isn’t liking the cold weather and isn’t lounging on the veranda.
He has tucked himself under a sheepskin fleece, in front of a fire.
It’s toasty as always in the Shepherd’s Hut, but he’s not allowed in there…..

Last client of the year seen so now seems a good time to wish all my clients and followers a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Thank you for your support during 2024. See you in 2025.

Today is World Mental Health Day.
Massage can be a key part of taking some time out of your busy schedule and making time for you. It engages your parasympathetic nervous system which helps you relax and rest and quietens your sympathetic nervous system (fight and flight), also easing chronic stress you may be experiencing. But I would say that, as I’m a massage therapist, so here is a study on this.

Sadly, I’m still closed to new clients, but wanted to share the importance of taking some time out for yourself today and everyday.
Take care, doing anything that relaxes you. Getting out in nature helps, go for a walk if you can.

I’ve had several new people contact me lately asking to see me. I’m afraid I’m taking new clients on as and when existing clients move on, so if you’d like to be added to my waiting list, please let me know, but it may be some time before I get to you.
