Hello, I’m Deborah — the face behind The Ivy Den Beauty 🌿

Based at Claire Steele in Goostrey, I offer personalised hair and makeup services with a focus on considered appointments, beautiful results and putting you and your hair first.

My career began in the world of Theatre and TV, training with ITV Yorkshire before going on to work on high-end productions for Netflix, Sky and the BBC. Those years shaped my eye for detail, creativity, and the art of creating polished, beautiful results under pressure.

I later fell in love with the quiet magic of wedding mornings — a space where hair and makeup becomes more than just styling, but part of how someone feels: calm, confident and completely themselves.

Today, my work has evolved into something that brings together everything I love about hair and beauty.

From cuts, colour and styling to bridal hair and makeup, I believe in a personalised approach that puts you and your hair first

I’m particularly passionate about scalp and hair health, which inspired me to create my signature Scalp Rituals — a more mindful approach to haircare, combining scalp analysis, tailored treatments and deeply relaxing massage in a calm, welcoming setting.

Away from my clients, life is full with my handsome husband, our two children, and our Golden Retriever, Mr Jeeves. When I’m not behind the chair, you’ll find me swimming 🏊🏻‍♀️, watching films 🎥 dancing 💃🏻, or enjoying something wonderfully nostalgic from Disney 🏰
