Yes techniques are great but we need more than that.
We need space, an environment where we can pause and take the time to check in with ourselves and what we actually need.
We need people, like minded people where our nervous systems support each other.
We need techniques to help us explore whats beneath our thinking mind.
This is what i love to create for my clients, they don't ever get just techniques, they get a space to check in with what they actually need, and people to support them. The techniques are the extra bit that helps them to explore and uncover.
If you're looking for a space to release some of the pressure from daily life and stop and check in with what you need, come and join us this Saturday for The Reset.
We are combining Space> liked minded people>techniques to help support you to pause, release the pressure, and feel like yourself again.

... but i'm actually excited.
I think we all have an expectation for where we will be when we "grow up", the house, the kids, the career, the money, maybe the car, the holiday, where we will live etc.
But no one ever asks us are we happy with that life?
A few years ago i gave up a life that on paper i "should" be happy with, a career, a lifestyle, but i think deep down i was just surviving (hence the burnout.)
I prioritised my health, followed breathwork and now somatics and uncovered part of me i didn't know existed.
There have been highs, lows and tears along the way, it has been tougher than i ever imagined, but i have just been following. Following my breath, following my body, following my heart, and following unexpected connections, opportunities and places i never thought i'd be.
After years of hiding behind the camera, i suddenly was in front of it, guest speaking, holding workshops something i never thought i'd do.
Why i am writing this? To be honest, i'm not fully sure, something inside of me needed to share this with others, as my work has always been to help others through sharing my journey.
If you are feeling, stuck, left behind, not following the "typical," way of doing life, but it makes you happy, (not perfect, not easy, but happy) please keep going. The best things in life come from unexpected ways i truly believe this.
Am i where i thought i'd be right now? No. But i am also excited for where i might be heading, and trying to remember to enjoy the journey along the way.

I’m fine. Just busy.”
That’s something I hear a lot, and its something i used to say.
The people I work with don’t always look stressed.
They’re working.
Getting things done.
Looking after everyone else.
People rely on them.
But underneath, they might be:
→ constantly switched on
→ exhausted but unable to switch off
→ overthinking everything
→ second-guessing decisions
→ struggling to concentrate
→ more irritable than usual
→ struggling with sleep
→ feeling tense, restless or constantly on edge
→ noticing changes in their breathing
They’re used to holding it together.
Pushing through.
Getting things done.
And often, they don’t realise how much pressure they’ve been carrying until they reach a point where their body starts saying enough.
Our nervous system is designed to help us respond to pressure. We need to be able to go, focus, act and get things done.
But we also need to be able to come back.
Rest.
Recover.
Switch off.
The problem isn’t having periods of pressure.
It’s when pressure becomes the norm and we never really get the chance to come back from it.
For me, eventually, that became burnout.
You don’t have to wait until burnout to realise you need support.
Sometimes the signs are much quieter.

In fact on the outside it can look like everything is ok.
They are working.
Getting things done.
Looking after other people.
People rely on them.
When you ask how they are, they often say: "i'm fine, just busy."
They are used to holding it together
Pushing through
Getting things done.
Until eventually something starts to change.
I know this because i've been there too.
I wish i'd know then what i know now about the way the nervous system works.
The nervous system is designed to be flexible.
It can handle times where we go, take action and get to where we want to be.
But it also needs opportunities for rest and recovery.
It needs flexibility between the two.
When we push through, keep going and over-ride our bodies signals, it can be harder to move into recovery mode. It says switched on, high alert, ready for the next thing.
For me this was burnout, my body couldn't keep going the same way.
The problem isn’t having periods of pressure.
It’s when pressure becomes the norm and we never really get the chance to come back from it.
You don’t have to wait until burnout to realise you need support.
Sometimes the signs are much quieter.
“I’m fine. Just busy.”
But are you quite as fine as you think?

Clients come to me and we see:
*Reduced stress
*Breathing easier
*Less overwhelm
*Better sleep
But the changes we talk about are deeper.
*Chatting to strangers as they have more confidence.
*Able to go out with friends
*Slowing down at the gym and enjoying it.
Thats the thing i love about this work, each client has deeper results that change their daily lives.
Together we release the pressure in your life, reconnect to yourself, so you can lead your life. We use breath and somatic (body) techniques to support you to the goal of where you want to be.
I want to support more leaders, people who feel confident in themselves, and lead their lives.
If you'd like to discuss more about how we can support you send me a message and lets have a chat.

We often think of rest as just physical but we forget about our mental and emotional, capacity too.
The Great north run is taking place in Newcastle this weekend.
But 13 miles isn't just physically alot on the body, its the:
*nerves at the start
*the crowds and the noise
*the mental challenge of continuing
*the emotional challenge of finishing the race
Ask yourself what do i need this week?
*Maybe its putting your feet up?
*Maybe its quiet evening without your phone.
*Maybe its cancelling social plans
*Maybe you want to talk about the race
*Maybe you swap the gym for a walk
Take your time post race, slow things down, remove things from your week so you can unwind not just physically but mentally and emotionally too.
After a significant physical and psychological demand you don't need to go straight back to: "normal."
If you want to combine physical, mental and emotional recovery.
