Melasma or sun damage? They can look almost identical at times, but they’re treated very differently. 🫠
Sun damage usually shows up as freckles and patches where the sun hits most. ☀️
Melasma tends to appear as larger, symmetrical patches on the cheeks, forehead or top lip, and it’s driven by hormones and heat as well as UV.
Why does it matter? Because some treatments that fade sun damage can make melasma worse. 😫

We grew up in the 90s, when skincare education wasn’t really a thing. 🫠
Refined sugar, sunbeds, no SPF and “just put some aftersun on it” were basically the norm.🫠
Fast forward to our late 30s… and suddenly the damage is showing. 👀
We can’t change what we did then……but we can change what we do now. 💪🏼
It’s time for a little damage control. 🤍
