✨ LASH RETENTION — WHAT’S NORMAL & WHAT’S NOT? ✨

Ever wondered why your lashes don’t look exactly the same after 2–3 weeks? Here’s what you need to know 👇🏼

🤍 WHAT’S NORMAL?

Your natural lashes are constantly going through their own growth cycle, meaning they naturally shed — and your extensions shed with them.

It’s completely normal to notice:
• A few lashes falling out each day 3-5 a day.
• More shedding around weeks 2–3
• Your set looking lighter and more grown-out over time
• Slightly different retention from one eye to the other
• Changes in retention depending on hormones, stress, illness, medication and your natural lash cycle even the time of year!

✨ WHAT ISN’T NORMAL?

If you’re losing large amounts of extensions within the first few days, or waking up to lots of extensions on your pillow, this is something worth discussing with your lash tech.

Retention can be affected by:
💧 Oils & skincare around the eyes
💦 Excessive sweating
🧴 Oil-based products
🚿 Not cleansing your lashes properly
😴 Sleeping on your face
🖐️ Picking, rubbing or pulling
🌡️ Changes in your natural lash cycle
🫧 Incorrect aftercare

💗 GOOD AFTERCARE = BETTER RETENTION

Clean your lashes when needed with a suitable lash cleanser, gently brush them when dry, avoid picking or pulling, and keep your appointments within the recommended timeframe.

And remember — everyone’s lashes are different! One person may have amazing retention for 3–4 weeks, while someone else naturally sheds faster and only last 2.

I can give you the best advice based on your natural lashes, lifestyle and how your extensions are wearing. ✨
