Is it really a skin tag?

I often see pictures shared online of growths that have been removed and described as skin tags. But the lesion in the before picture was not a skin tag at all.

The important thing to remember is that not every raised or hanging growth is a skin tag and several different skin conditions can look very similar.

That’s why getting the correct identification before removing anything is so important.

If you have a growth you think is a skin tag, please have it assessed by a trained, appropriately qualified professional first. If there’s any doubt, they can advise whether it’s suitable for treatment or whether you should be referred for further assessment.

👉 Don’t guess. Have it checked before you remove it.

Your skin is worth taking that extra step for. ❤️

If you live with rosacea, you’ll know it’s about so much more than just having “a bit of redness.”
It can be the feeling of your face suddenly flushing when you’re hot, embarrassed, stressed or having a glass of w**e.

It can be skin that feels hot, sore, tight or sensitive and never quite knowing what is going to trigger your next flare-up.

It can be checking your reflection constantly, reaching for makeup to cover the redness, avoiding photos or even feeling self-conscious in social situations.

And perhaps the hardest part? Feeling like you’ve tried everything, but your skin is still controlling you.

But it doesn’t have to stay that way.

At DermaPro we understand that every person’s rosacea is different. That’s why we don’t take a one-size fits all approach.

Following a consultation, we assess how your rosacea presents and recommend the treatment most suited to your skin, your symptoms and your goals.

Our aim is to help reduce the appearance of persistent redness and visible vessels, calm your skin and help you feel more comfortable and confident in it again.

Imagine waking up and not immediately thinking about your redness.

Imagine going out without feeling the need to hide behind makeup.

Imagine looking at photographs and seeing you, rather than focusing on your skin.

That’s what we want to help you work towards.

If you’re tired of managing your rosacea and ready to explore what could be possible for your skin, let’s have a conversation.

A question I get asked all the time: “What do you use for blemish removal?”

One of the most common questions I get asked is why I choose electrocautery rather than freezing when treating certain blemishes and skin imperfections.

For me, it comes down to precision, control and the results I can achieve.

Electrocautery allows me to work very precisely on the individual area being treated, using controlled heat to target the tissue while minimising treatment to the surrounding skin.

Another reason I prefer this method is that, for suitable blemishes, I can often remove the lesion in one treatment. With freezing or cryotherapy, the area may require more than one treatment, and the blemish may not be completely removed during the initial treatment.

Of course, every blemish and every client is different, and treatment suitability will always be assessed individually.

For me, being able to work with such accuracy and control is a huge advantage, particularly when treating smaller or more delicate areas.

Lynton IPL for Rosacea

If you struggle with rosacea, you’ll know that redness, flushing and visible thread veins can have a real impact on your confidence.

Lynton IPL is one of the most effective treatment options for reducing the appearance of facial redness, broken capillaries and vascular changes associated with rosacea.

The light energy targets the unwanted blood vessels within the skin, helping to reduce their appearance and leave the complexion looking clearer and more even.

For many clients, the difference is not just visible in the skin, it can make a real difference to how confident they feel going makeup-free.

Every skin is different, so a consultation is essential to assess your skin and determine whether IPL is suitable for you.

If rosacea is something you would like to address, get in touch to arrange a consultation and find out more about Lynton IPL.

Before and after Seborrhoeic Keratosis Removal

It’s often the small things that make the biggest difference.

This before and after shows the removal of two seborrhoeic keratosis from the eyebrow area. One of the benefits for this client is being able to have their eyebrows done without the tint sticking to the raised area of the skin.

A great example of how a simple skin concern can have an impact on the little things we often take for granted.

If you have blemishes that are bothering you please just send us a message to arrange a consultation.

Visible Results After Just One Treatment

A look at the progress after one treatment as part of a planned course.

There is already a noticeable improvement in the appearance of melasma and overall skin tone, with the complexion looking more even and refined.

This is just the beginning of the treatment journey.
We have a full course to complete, and we look forward to supporting the skin through each stage and monitoring the progress along the way.

If you’re concerned about pigmentation, uneven skin tone or changes in your complexion and would like to discuss whether this treatment may be suitable for you, please get in touch.

Individual results vary, and a course of treatments may be recommended depending on your skin and desired outcome.

Why I don’t recommend squeezing milia and why I use electrolysis.

Milia are small, firm, keratin-filled cysts that commonly appear as tiny white or skin-coloured bumps, particularly around the delicate eye area.
Although they can be tempting to squeeze, milia are not spots and should not be treated in the same way. Attempting to remove them by squeezing can cause unnecessary trauma to the skin, resulting in inflammation, bruising, infection or, in some cases, scarring.

This is why I prefer to use electrolysis for suitable cases of milia removal. Electrolysis allows me to work with precision, creating a very small opening in the surface of the skin so that the contents can be released without applying unnecessary pressure to the surrounding tissue.

My priority is always to achieve effective results while respecting the integrity of the skin. Every client is assessed individually, as not every bump is a milia and not every case is suitable for treatment.

Professional assessment and appropriate technique are key when working on delicate areas of the skin.

If you have milia that you would like to have removed, please feel free to contact us to discuss whether electrolysis removal may be suitable for you.

Did you know that our Lynton illumiFacial can help improve active acne as well as overall skin health?

The treatment combines a specially formulated Tri-Fruit Acid Peel with IPL technology to target congestion, breakouts, and inflammation.

💙 Glycolic Acid – A powerful exfoliator with antimicrobial properties that can help reduce acne-causing bacteria and prevent future breakouts.

🍇 Tartaric Acid – Derived from grape extracts, this gentle AHA helps exfoliate the skin and improve the appearance of acne-prone complexions.

✨ Salicylic Acid – A well-known acne-fighting ingredient that penetrates deep into the pores to remove excess oil and dead skin cells while helping to calm redness and inflammation.

As Dr Sam Hills, Lynton Clinical Director, explains:
"Using a specially formulated peel prior to IPL treatment gives enhanced light pe*******on, allowing both to work synergistically to give flawless, air-brushed skin."

The treatment is quick and comfortable, with most clients experiencing only a mild tingling from the peel and a brief warm pinprick sensation during the IPL.

Ready to achieve clearer, healthier skin? Get in touch to find out if the illumiFacial is right for you.
