Life on the farm is full throttle as always but this week we are harvesting our new herbal ley so that we have enough winter forage for our sheep through the winter 🐑
Back in Spring we over-seeded our established pasture with a new herbal ley but it only started growing in September once we had rain 🌧️
It’s now looking fabulously diverse with so many different species growing 🌱
We are hoping that it will offer a hardy and nutritional diet for our sheep that will improve and protect our soil during adverse weather conditions ☀️
We can only try and adapt to our changing climate and hope it’s enough to continue growing sustainable food at Harlequin Cottage for many years to come 💪🎃🌻🥩🥓🥔🥕🍗🍳
We all love a pollinators 🌻🌼

A fantastic season and the bees are in a good strong condition with plenty of honey for coming winter months. The Ivy is just starting so there is still work to do for Bee's.
I'll be helping to protect the hives, making them nice and cosy😀
Thank you all once again for the support and I'm sure we're all looking forward to 2027 spring. I am🐝😁
