“My first proper job was as a Saturday girl on the No7 counter in Boots Manchester when I was 17. Back then I only ever wore pale shades, while the glamorous women I served would come to the counter asking for Gay Geranium. At the time I thought it was far too grown-up for me. More than 40 years later, it’s become one of my favourite lipsticks. Every time I wear it, it reminds me where my career in the beauty industry first began.”
