For years, sitting in a standard office chair would flare up my lower back. I’d swap chairs constantly, trying anything that might help. It got to the point where it felt embarrassing because I was always changing chairs while everyone else seemed fine.
I even tried lumbar supports and cushions, but nothing really solved the problem.
Then one day I spotted a kneeling chair hidden away in the corner of another department. I gave it a try...
It completely changed how I could sit at work.
Sometimes the biggest improvement isn’t pushing through the pain…. it’s finding a different way to do things.
Have you ever tried a kneeling chair?
The chiropractor definitely helped.
Each adjustment brought relief, and over time my appointments reduced from twice a week, to weekly, then fortnightly, and eventually monthly.
I was given exercises to do at home, advised to keep moving, and pay attention to my posture.
Eventually, I was discharged because there was nothing more he felt he needed to do.
The problem was that although I was much better than before, I still didn’t feel completely fixed.
The pain had improved, but my back still felt fragile. I didn’t trust it. I felt like one wrong movement could set me back again.
So I kept searching for answers.
The goal isn’t just to get out of pain. It’s to build and maintain enough strength and muscle that your body remains capable, resilient, and independent for decades.
At this stage, I started physio sessions to improve movement and loosen tight areas like my hamstrings. I was given gentle rehab stretches to do at home, hoping things would gradually improve.
But honestly… I didn’t notice much difference.
The pain, tightness, and frustration were still there.
So instead of accepting it, I kept searching for answers.

If your back always feels tight…
It’s not because it needs more stretching.
It’s because it’s not strong enough to handle your day-to-day life.
Start building it.
Weak ≠injured
Most lower backs just haven’t been used properly in years
So your body protects it
by tightening everything
That’s what you’re feeling
