Close up and personal πŸ’š

The bit where the parting meets the front and you can finally transition out of every hole, every row πŸ₯²

I love love LOVE a parting but I do also sometimes just need it to end, its exhausting if you have a huge one but the end result is so worth it. Go back to my Elphaba post to see the finished result of this one X

t's often the smallest details that make the biggest difference... ✨

This close-up shows a small sideburn section on a front edge. It might only be a tiny part of the overall wig, but adding these subtle details helps to soften the hairline and creates a much more natural finish X

πŸ’š A little bit of Oz... πŸ’š

One of my favourite wigs to work on for Wicked London was this beautiful wig for Elphaba.

Working with hair this long definitely came with its challenges! Keeping everything smooth, evenly distributed and natural throughout the knotting process takes plenty of patience, but seeing it all come together is so worth it.

I absolutely loved creating this piece for such an iconic character, and I have a bit of a soft spot for that dramatic widow's peak. It's such a defining part of Elphaba's silhouette and adds so much strength and character to the overall look.

I still feel incredibly lucky that my little business gets to contribute to productions like this. There's nothing quite like seeing something you've made by hand come to life on stage.

A messy desk is usually a sign of a productive day... and this one was no exception!✨

Swipe to see this student's work ➑️

The fact that she had never knotted before coming into the studio and then produced the work in the second photo is honestly incredible. The progress some students make in just one day never ceases to amaze me.

A lot of concentration, a lot of practice, a few laughs along the way, and by the end of the day she was producing some beautiful, tight knots πŸ’—

If you've ever thought about learning wig making, don't underestimate what can be achieved with the right guidance and a few days dedicated to learning.

I looooove the shape of this front, so much fun to work on and something different too! It was low on the sideburns too it kinda makes me want to go watch the show πŸ€ͺ

Wig Re-Vamp ✨

One of the most valuable things about a well-made wig is that it can often be given a whole new lease of life rather than being replaced altogether.

For this re-vamp, I reinforced the inside of the wig with an entirely new section of lace, strengthening the foundation and helping to extend the life of the piece for many more wears to come. I then thickened up the thinning parts of the wig following the directions that the original maker used.

I absolutely love this kind of work. There's something so satisfying about taking a well-loved wig, repairing it, and making sure it can continue telling stories for years to come πŸ’—

If you have a wig that's looking a little tired, a re-vamp can often be a fantastic alternative to starting from scratch X

Sorry but how impressive is this mock front section? From very limited knotting experience to this in just a few days πŸ₯²
Proud doesn't even cover it X
