This isn't straightforward....

Lucius VS Maximus 👇🏻

They share similarities in the opening, but once they start to dry down they head in very different directions.

For me, Lucius is the brighter, fresher and more citrus-forward option. Easy to wear, versatile and something I could happily reach for regularly throughout spring and summer.

Maximus takes things somewhere completely different. Darker, deeper, woodier and more rugged, with the coffee becoming more noticeable as it develops before that warmer base starts to come through.

And that's exactly why I can't pick a winner.

If I wanted an everyday fragrance? Lucius.

Colder weather, evenings or something with a bit more presence? Maximus.

Neither makes the other redundant. They just serve completely different purposes in my collection.

None of them are cheap, and I’m not going to pretend they are.

But if the budget allows and you want something that separates you from the crowd, this is where fragrance gets interesting.

SUNSET HOUR JUST GOT DARKER 🍑🌅

Goldfield & Banks have taken one of their most recognisable fragrances and pushed it in a richer, deeper direction with Sunset Hour Dark Peach.

The bright, juicy DNA is still there, but this feels warmer, boozier and considerably more grown up.

Jamaican rum and mandarin bring the opening, before ginger, tonka and ylang ylang start adding warmth and texture. Then vanilla and woody ambers take over as it dries down.

And despite the name… this isn’t just “Sunset Hour with peach.” If anything, Dark Peach tells you more about the mood than the actual scent 😂

For me, this feels like Sunset Hour after the sun’s actually gone down.

Same family.
Different occasion.

But the big question…

Heard of these 🤔

I got my nose on the Diwanar Discovery Set. Four fragrances, four completely different directions, and a chance to try something outside the usual names that dominate the fragrance feed.

That’s half the fun of niche fragrance for me. Digging a little deeper and finding houses that aren’t already being talked about everywhere.

Some impressed me more than others, and there’s definitely one or two here I’d happily spend more time with 👀
