Waxing Academy - Bee Waxed
ABT accredited intimate wax training courses in the north west, teaching specialist techniques.
When you find leg waxing difficult remember all you need is a good method and little changes.. you need to avoid getting wax on your gloves and up your stick at all costs as this will slow you down so working with a method is the best way to prevent this. Never work over where you’ve applied wax already. You will end up with wax on your gloves and a sticky mess!
When it comes to leg waxing, strip wax often gets overlooked… but it shouldn’t 👀
Strip wax is specifically designed for larger areas like the legs, making it the most efficient and effective choice for both therapist and client.
✨ Why strip wax works best for legs:
– Applies in a thin layer, allowing for faster treatment times
– Removes fine hair cleanly from large areas
– Cost-effective
– Leaves a smooth even finish when applied correctly
Unlike hot wax, which is better suited for smaller, more sensitive areas, strip wax is ideal for speed without compromising results.
The key? It’s all in the technique. Pressure, angle and application matter more than the wax itself.
At Bee Waxed Academy we don’t just teach waxing, we teach why you’re using each method, so you can work smarter, not harder.
Save this if you’re ready to level up your leg wax game 💛
Underarm dips are a technique test… not a wax problem.
If your wax is pooling, cracking or leaving hair behind, it’s usually down to how you’re stretching and removing not the product you’re using 👀
✔️ L-stretch to flatten the hollow
✔️ Controlled, thin application
✔️ Sectioned removal for precision (not one rushed pull)
These are the small technique shifts that completely change your results and your client comfort.
This is exactly the kind of detail we focus on inside my training.
Because confident therapists aren’t guessing… they understand why they’re doing what they’re doing.
Save this for your next set + if you’re ready to level up your waxing technique, my courses are designed to get you there 💛
Not all regrowth is created equal… 👀
If you’ve ever had a client come in with uneven patchy hair left from a previous salon, you’ll know exactly what this means. Missed hairs, snapped hair, poor sectioning or rushed technique doesn’t just affect that appointment it impacts how the client feels about waxing as a whole.
As therapists, this is where we have an opportunity to stand out.
Retention isn’t just about removing hair, it’s about delivering an experience that makes your client think, “I’m never going anywhere else again.”
✨ Take the time to assess the hair properly
✨ Adjust your technique don’t just follow a routine
✨ Educate your client without criticising their previous therapist
✨ Focus on comfort, cleanliness and confidence throughout
Clients remember how you made them feel just as much as the results you gave them.
When you combine exceptional treatment with an exceptional experience, you build trust and trust is what keeps your diary full.
Don’t just aim to remove hair. Aim to raise their standards.
TIPS TO MAKE UNDERARM WAXING EASIER
• Apply wax with firm pressure
This is a game changer. Pressing the wax in properly ensures the hairs are fully wrapped, giving you a cleaner removal and fewer missed hairs.
• Work in smaller, controlled sections
Underarms grow in multiple directions trying to rush with big strips will only create more work. Keep your strips narrow.
• Stretch from multiple points
Don’t rely on one stretch. Adjust the arm and use your free hand to get the skin as tight as possible in each section.
• Keep your wax consistency spot on
Too thick = waste and drag. Too thin = poor grip. Aim for a smooth even application every time.
• Reposition your client, not yourself
Move their arm around instead of awkwardly adjusting your body, this keeps your application neat and controlled.
•Use shorter pull distances
Think controlled and close to the skin, not big dramatic pulls. This keeps removals cleaner and more comfortable.
• Don’t overwork the same area
If you’ve missed a few hairs, tweeze or reassess, going over the same spot repeatedly will irritate the skin fast.
• Use your spatula angle strategically
Keep it low and flat when applying then use the tip to spread!
• Create a clean “lip” for removal
Neat edges make your strips easier and quicker to lift! no digging around or fumbling.
Quick hygiene tip for waxers 👇
I always use bedroll instead of regular tissue to remove excess oil! it’s stronger, more hygienic and doesn’t break apart during the treatment 🙌
But here’s the REALLY important part…
🚫 Never use the same piece of tissue to wipe the back area and then go to the front.
This is all about cross-contamination and protecting your client’s intimate health. The front area is much more sensitive and prone to infection, so we always keep everything clean, fresh, and separate.
✨ New wipe = every time you move areas
✨ Hygiene isn’t optional, it’s professional standard
Your clients trust you with their bodies… make sure your hygiene matches that responsibility 💛
POV: filming your own content as a waxer… the chest holder needs more practice 😂🙈 but we move.
Let’s talk underarm waxing from a professional perspective ⬇️
Underarms are often underestimated, but they’re a key area to refine your technique.
Things to focus on:
• Tension is everything – the skin is soft and can move easily, so correct positioning and firm tension will prevent lifting and minimise discomfort
• Product control – underarm hair grows in multiple directions, working in sections is essential for a clean removal
• Client positioning – adjusting and stretching the skin under the arm correctly will expose different areas of growth and make your job much easier
Also remember:
Underarm hair can be coarse, especially on first-time waxes, so your wax placement and removal technique needs to be confident and controlled.
This is one of those treatments where small adjustments in technique make a big difference in results.
And if you’re trying to film your work at the same time… good luck 😂
There’s something so satisfying about the final touches ✨
Sealing each certificate with our embossed stamp and signature sticker because every detail matters when you’re stepping into your next level of confidence and skill 💛
Behind every certificate is hours of hands-on training, support and real technique that sets you apart in the industry. I can’t wait to hand these out on our upcoming training days 🐝
You’re not just leaving with a certificate… you’re leaving with a standard.
Double dipping isn’t always obvious… 👀
I still see so many therapists online doing it in sneaky ways without even realising.
Like Touching both ends of the spatula and then dipping it into the pot? That’s still double dipping.
And let’s talk about hygiene habits while we’re here…
❌ Touching your hair mid-wax
❌ Wearing loads of bracelets that sit in the treatment area
❌ pulling up your cardigan sleeve mid wax
These small habits massively increase the risk of cross-contamination.
As professionals our clients trust us with their skin and hygiene standards matter just as much as technique. Clean habits, single-use applicators, and strict pot hygiene should always be non-negotiable. 🐝✨
This isn’t about calling anyone out — it’s about raising industry standards and educating therapists so we can all do better.
Spreading wax isn’t just about getting it on the skin… it’s about pressure and control ✨
Too light? You won’t grip the hair properly.
Too heavy? You’ll drag the skin and cause unnecessary discomfort.
The right pressure means:
✔️ Smoother application
✔️ Better hair encapsulation
✔️ Cleaner removal
✔️ Less trauma to the skin
In intimate waxing especially, pressure is everything. It’s what separates a quick waxer from a confident fully booked specialist.
If your strips aren’t coming off clean or your clients say it feels “pull-y”… check your pressure before you blame the wax 👀
Education over ego. Technique over speed. Always.
