What a nightmare!

You may not know this - recently the regulations that cosmetic formulators have to declare on all products - the allergens - was updated. The new regulation is now in place and failing to comply can incur a hefty fine!

Yeah so not a big deal I hear you say!

Well, you know that writing on the back of cosmetic labels that looks a bit like gibberish, that is actually a full list of ingredients including any allergens present and is written in INCI which is an international standard and recognised world wide.

Bear with me!

The list of allergens that need declaring if present Ina single product above 0.001% for leave-on products and 0.01% for rinse-off products has just sky rocketed from 24 to 80!

This means that all formulators must now check all their products to make sure they comply (list any and all allergens that apply) for every single product! This is a huge task and some products may need to be reassessed which incurs a cost!

I may MIA for some time whilst I calculate and redo labels!
