The sign of a safe/ trained injector.

This morning I experienced my first positive aspiration while performing a lip filler enhancement treatment on my client.

Safe practice is to aspirate with every injection and wait to check if it is safe to proceed before injecting the filler, if blood enters the needle hub it is absolutely NOT safe to inject. If this was to be injected it could lead to a vascular inclusion- compromising blood flow to the tissue.

Client safety is the absolute priority when carrying out treatments and although injectable treatments don’t come without risk, I have been trained to the highest standard and will always follow measures to keep clients safe.

The filler was correctly disposed of and a new sterile syringe of filler was used to complete the treatment.

The treatment ended with the client safe and happy with their results.🩷
