🎉 NAFCYON Convention Highlights

Congratulations to Bro. Owolabi David, CMT, a resident parishioner at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Chaplaincy, Nigerian Airforce Base, on his participation at the just-concluded NAFCYON Convention held at the Chaplaincy in Abuja. This NAFCYON comprises of all the Catholic youth members of the various Nigerian Air Force Chaplaincies in Nigeria, under the leadership of Very. Revd. Fr. (Air Cdr) Cyril Akuh, and his Deputy, Revd. Fr. (Wd Cmdre) Roberto Inweregbu.

The youth convention that lasted for 3 days, was packed with exciting activities ranging from quiz competitions, pageantry, debates, seminars, and more. It was a wonderful platform for our young people to grow in faith, fellowship, and talent.

We celebrate every young person who took part and pray that the lessons and inspiration from the convention continue to bear fruit in their lives.

Homily for Thursday, 17th Week in Ordinary Time.
Jeremiah 18:1–6; Psalm 146; Matthew 13:47–53

Title: Let God Shape Your Life

In the first reading, God sends Jeremiah to the potter's house. As the potter patiently reshapes the clay after it becomes misshapen, God reminds us that He never gives up on us. We all make mistakes, experience failures, and carry weaknesses, yet the Lord is always ready to mould us anew if we surrender ourselves to Him. The real question is not whether we are perfect, but whether we are willing to remain in the Potter's hands and allow Him to transform our lives.

In the Gospel, Jesus compares the Kingdom of Heaven to a net that gathers fish of every kind. At the end, the good are separated from the bad, reminding us that our daily choices have eternal consequences. God is patient and merciful, giving us time to repent and grow in holiness, but we must respond to His grace while there is still time. Today is the day to let Him reshape our hearts and renew our lives.

God of power and mercy,
who willed that Christ your Son should suffer for the salvation of all the world,
