sorry i ghosted 🤍

somewhere between a very full wedding season, wanting everything i put my name to feel right, and convincing myself i’d slow down after “just one more thing”… the next bride, the next booking, the next deadline… i eventually learned the fairly predictable lesson of what happens when perfectionism meets absolutely no off switch. a little health scare soon after made the pause non-negotiable.

i burnt out. so i went quiet. not from the work, but from the noise around it. socials, posting, replying, documenting, even being social started asking for more energy than i had to give.

the brides still got me. the henna still got my best. everything else had to wait.

and somewhere between working, recovering, pausing and just existing a little more privately, i realised i didn’t actually miss being visible. i missed creating when it felt good to create.

i’m slowly learning that life doesn’t have to be done at 100% or abandoned completely. that something can still be good without being perfect, and that slowing down before i’m forced to makes a lot more sense than my previous strategy of running myself into the ground 🫠

to every bride who trusted me, every client who gave me grace, everyone who stepped in when i needed it, and every person who quietly checked on me, thank you. genuinely.

and to anyone still waiting for the content i promised, i’m sorry. it’s all there, buried somewhere beneath an almost offensive amount of gorgeous camera roll sludge 🥹 it’ll find its way out, slowly and properly.

anyway. still working. still creating. just learning that there can be quite a lot of life between all and nothing ♥️

🍔 ELEPHANT & CASTLE, YOU’RE IN FOR A TREAT 👀🔥

We were invited down to the Side Street launch event and honestly… every single thing we tried was incredible. The kind of food that has you licking your fingers, stealing bites off each other and already planning your next visit before you’ve even left 🤤

Here’s what we tried:

🍔 Nashville Sando
🍔 Lamb Stacker (my personal favourite!)
🍔 Brisket Melt

🍟 Pulled Lamb Fries (absolutely heavenly!)

🍗 Nashville Tender
🍗 Buffalo Tender (to die for 🤤)
🍗 BBQ Tender

🥗 Potato Salad
🥗 Coleslaw (super fresh and crunchy)

🍹 Mango Crush
🍹 Lychee & Lime

The flavours were unreal, the portions were generous and the service was genuinely top notch from start to finish. Huge thank you to the entire Side Street team for having us 💛

An added bonus? We got to witness take on one of his legendary food challenges in person 😳👏

If you’re local, trust me, this is one you don’t want to miss…

Bridal henna for my sweetest client Maryam ♥️

She wanted an intricate Pakistani style bridal design with lots of rich detail, elegant symmetry and flowing wraparound elements. We worked closely from her inspiration photos and created this beautiful design filled with swirly vines, delicate patterns and statement detailing throughout.

Absolutely love how balanced and detailed this turned out ✨

What do you think of this bridal mehndi? ♥️

Watch this before throwing away your old henna cones!! 👀

One thing about me… I hate wastage 😭
If I still have usable paste left inside old cones from my bridal appointments, I’ll always cut them open, mix everything together & turn them into fresh practice cones!!

Not only does this help you get the absolute most out of your henna, it’s also such a good way to make practice cones without buying extra paste. Different leftover cones can usually be mixed together too, especially for practice work, line drills & experimenting with styles.

The final texture is honestly SO satisfying once everything is mixed properly… smooth, creamy & stringy = perfectttt 👌🏼

Such an underrated tip for beginner henna artists ♥️

Save this for later before your next cone clear out ✨
