Next up for ‘Silo’ S3, another one on Tim Robbins Tim Robbins as Bernard who was fantastic handling an epic application by an army of artists buzzing around him!

This was the fresh burns stage, another multi-piece prosthetic makeup which had to work around and incorporate both head and facial hair using both contoured and over 30 individual flat silicone pieces and cap plastic dressing along with clumps of pre-singed hair. A final flourish for these burns is my great secret product... nigella seeds! Not only do they smell lush but ground up they are a great final touch to the charred look of burns, contrasting so well with the wetness of the red raw flesh exposed.

Myself and Nate sculpted in some gnarly texture but we also fabricated with silicone to create the fleshy depth of the burns to really sell the rawness of the flesh underneath the skin. Big 👏 must go to Raj who pre-painted all the sets for this makeup, absolutely mammoth task!

This was one of the funniest makeups I’ve ever done , not just because of the insane amount of paint, tattoos, and prosthetics, but especially because Adam Young was just the best person to bring it to life. I couldn’t have asked for a better actor to sit on the chair (standing most of the time!) at something like 3 a.m.!

I applied this makeup a good number of times, but it went through so many hands from so many amazing artists during the shoot!! Please feel free to tag yourself if you were part of it!
