As a young girl in Afghanistan, Zahra Joya dressed as a boy so she could go to school. She went on to study law, become a journalist, and start her own media company. When the Taliban returned in 2021, decades of progress vanished overnight.
Now living in exile in London, she refuses to stay silent.
Zahra will be in conversation with co-author and journalist Amie Ferris-Rotman about their new book The Vanishing Girl of Kabul, a memoir and a rallying cry for women whose rights are being stripped away.

We celebrated the launch of Isabel’s debut, bestselling memoir “Dogs, Boys and Other Things I’ve Cried About” at The Hearth — the final stop on her epic North America and UK book tour.
This book made us laugh, cry and everything in between, and it was truly special to share it with Isabel and her fans.
