A British fine fragrance collection that views scent as an open-ended adventure in
The Illuminum brand was developed in 2010 by a collection of 16 perfumers. The idea behind the brand was to help educate the public with regards to niche fragrance, and how for a few pounds more than high street fragrance you could own a beautiful niche creation, and so the Illuminum Vaporizor range was born. The perfumers were then given a brief to create anything they wanted with no budget restrictions and the Haute Perfume range was the outcome.

Ginger in perfumery doesn’t smell like ginger.
The compound that makes it hot on the tongue
doesn’t survive extraction.
What comes through instead is sharper —
citrus-adjacent, slightly fizzy, woody.
Here, it’s wild ginger. A different character
from the cultivated root: greener, more
herbaceous, closer to the plant than the spice.
Paired with pear and bergamot in the opening.
Rhubarb and fennel in the heart to keep it
from going sweet.

White Musk doesn’t announce itself.
Turkish rose and saffron open it —
the saffron adds a slight metallic edge,
just enough to keep the rose from reading
as purely soft.
Patchouli underneath. Dry, not sweet.
Sandalwood beside it — creamy, warm,
close to skin.
And then musk.
The thing everything else was building toward.

Tea in perfumery is not tea in a cup.
The tannins don’t survive extraction.
What comes through instead is the character —
dry, slightly astringent, with a green
bitterness underneath.
Tribal Black Tea builds on that.
Bergamot opens it — sharp, citrus, clean.
Cardamom adds warmth without sweetness.

Not all oud is the same.
Black oud doesn't soften the rough edges. It leans into them — smoke, earth, resin, patchouli, a slight animalic warmth. The qualities that lighter oud styles quietly remove are exactly the point here.
It projects. One spray is enough.
Dense in summer, exactly right in autumn. Pepper up top, earthy patchouli through the middle, warm resinous base by evening. It doesn't burn off. It evolves.
