A little bladder habit you might not realise you’re doing.

Peeing “just in case” can sometimes train your bladder to signal sooner than it needs to. 👍

There’s a strange assumption that once you’re pregnant, movement suddenly becomes risky. Well-meaning comments from family, strangers in the gym, even other mums, all questioning whether you “should be doing that.” 🤔🤰

Here’s the truth: for most pregnancies, staying active isn’t just safe, it’s genuinely beneficial. It can help with energy levels, sleep, mood, and even prepare your body for labour and recovery afterwards. 🧘‍♀️🚶‍♀️

What usually needs to change isn’t whether you exercise - it’s how:

➡️ Intensity - you don’t need to stop, but pushing to your absolute limit isn’t the goal anymore. Working at a pace where you can still hold a conversation is a good general guide.

➡️ Position - lying flat on your back for exercises becomes best avoided after the first trimester, as it can put pressure on a major blood vessel.

➡️ Listening to your body - some days you’ll feel strong and capable. Other days, a short walk might be plenty. Both are completely valid.

You don’t need to earn the right to move your body during pregnancy, and you don’t need to justify it to anyone either. If in doubt about a specific exercise or activity, it’s always worth checking in with someone who can give you guidance tailored to you and your pregnancy, rather than a generic rule. 📥

The place that hurts isn’t always the source of the problem. 😖

Sometimes, we need to look at the bigger picture to understand why it’s happening. 👋

So much attention goes to your baby in these first weeks and months, check-ups, feeding, sleep. But your own body, after growing and birthing a baby, also needs proper care and attention. 🍼👩‍🍼

It’s common to experience:

➡️ Leaking when you cough, sneeze or laugh
➡️ A heavy or “dragging” feeling
➡️ Abdominal separation (diastasis recti)
➡️Uncertainty about when or how to start exercising again

These are common after birth. ✅ But common doesn’t mean they should be ignored or simply accepted.

A postnatal physio check-up helps you understand what’s actually happening in your body and gives you a clear, realistic plan to recover, whether you’re 6 weeks or 6 years postpartum. 🤗

You don’t need to wait until something feels “bad enough” to seek support. You deserve care too.
