Marrelle Clinic
Medical aesthetics clinic specialising in facial harmonisation, regenerative, anti-ageing skin treatments and women’s health.
Supporting natural, subtle rejuvenation and skin health through perimenopause, menopause and beyond.
The tiredness under your eyes doesn’t go away, no matter how much you sleep or how much cream you use.
That crepey, shadowed, hollow look so many women notice from their forties onward isn’t always about being tired. As collagen declines through midlife and menopause, the skin under the eyes, which is already the thinnest on the face, becomes even thinner and loses its quality. No eye cream can reach deep enough to change that.
What I use in these cases is Plinest. It’s a polynucleotide treatment, which means it works quite differently to filler. Rather than adding volume, it’s designed to prompt your own skin to repair and regenerate itself, improving hydration, texture and that overall quality from within. It’s one of the treatments I reach for most, precisely because the under-eye area responds so well to it.
This is skin health, not a cover-up. It works gradually over a course of sessions, building quietly rather than changing your face overnight. Which is exactly how I prefer to work: with your skin’s own biology, not against it.
If you’ve been battling tired-looking skin and nothing topical has touched it, send me a DM.

If your skin feels different during perimenopause or menopause, there is a reason.
Hormonal changes can affect collagen, hydration, elasticity, texture and the way the skin responds over time.
For many women, these changes can feel surprisingly sudden, and understanding what’s happening beneath the surface can make them much easier to navigate.
Swipe through to understand some of the changes you may notice and why they happen.
Because menopause care should include how you feel in your skin, too.

Sometimes, the most effective way to improve skin quality is to encourage the skin to do more of what it already knows how to do.
Microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries in the skin, triggering the body’s natural repair response and supporting collagen and elastin production.
Over time, this can help improve the appearance of skin texture, fine lines, pores and overall radiance.
The aim is to support healthier, stronger, more resilient skin from within.
And that process starts beneath the surface.

You’ve probably heard the term “Ozempic face”.
But behind the trend is a much more important conversation about what happens to the face when significant weight is lost.
Changes in facial fat and tissue can affect volume, structure and skin quality, and the answer isn’t automatically to replace that volume with filler.
Every face is different, which is why I believe treatment should begin with assessment rather than assumptions.
Sometimes the most appropriate approach is about supporting skin quality and tissue health. Sometimes it’s about restoring proportion.
The goal should always be the same: helping you look like the best version of yourself.

Facial harmonisation isn’t about changing your face. It’s about understanding how everything works together.
For this result, the focus wasn’t on treating one feature in isolation.
The approach considered the face as a whole, with subtle treatment across several areas to support overall balance and proportion.
The result is visible, but look closely at what hasn’t changed. She still looks like herself. The aim was to create a more rested, balanced appearance while respecting her natural features and facial structure.
This is why I believe a personalised approach matters. There is no single formula for facial harmonisation, because every face is different.
A considered treatment plan starts with understanding the individual, their anatomy, their skin and what they would like to achieve.
The goal isn’t a different face. It’s harmony.
If you’re considering facial harmonisation, book a consultation to discuss what may be appropriate for you.

Biostimulators and dermal fillers are not interchangeable—and understanding the difference matters.
While fillers can be used to restore volume and provide structural support, biostimulators take a different approach, working with the body’s own regenerative processes to support collagen and skin quality over time.
Neither is inherently better.
The right choice depends on your facial structure, skin quality, concerns and what you want your result to look and feel like.
For patients who are concerned about looking overfilled, a gradual approach can sometimes be a better fit.
Good aesthetics starts with assessment, not assumptions.

Summer may be over, but your skin can still be showing the effects.
Sun exposure, heat, travel and changes in routine can leave skin feeling dehydrated, uneven or less resilient.
September is a good time to pause, assess what your skin needs and think about how best to support it going into autumn.
That might mean restoring hydration, addressing pigmentation, supporting the skin barrier, or beginning a longer-term approach to collagen and skin quality.
There isn’t one treatment for everyone.
The best place to start is understanding your skin.

The reason you’ve held off on lip filler is the same reason you should look at who’s holding the needle.
You’ve seen the results that made you nervous. The ones that announce themselves across a room, that look added rather than restored. So you’ve left your lips alone, even as they’ve quietly lost the shape and fullness they used to have.
Here’s what most people miss. Lips thin with age like everything else. As collagen declines through midlife, they lose volume, definition and that soft natural border, often before you’ve consciously noticed why your face looks a little different.
The result you’re seeing here isn’t about making lips bigger. It’s about restoring what was already yours, gently, with a “less is more” approach that Dr Ivona holds to on every treatment. Enough to look rested and balanced. Never enough to look like you’ve had something done.
That restraint is the whole point. Lip filler done well shouldn’t be noticeable. It should just look like you, on a good day.

Would you take advice from a doctor who hadn’t tried it herself?
I wouldn’t. Which is why every treatment I offer at Marrelle, I’ve experienced first, on my own face, over years rather than months.
Here’s what that’s actually involved. Dermal fillers placed with restraint to support structure where midlife shifts it: temples, cheeks, jawline, chin, a little through the nasolabial folds, and lips. Biostimulators and skin boosters to rebuild quality from within: polynucleotides, Profhilo, Jalupro and IconaH8. And UltraClear laser resurfacing to refine tone and texture over time.
None of it at once. None of it to look like someone else. Just structural support where hormones quietly take it, and skin quality where menopause thins it, built gradually the way I build every plan for my patients.
What you’re seeing here isn’t a transformation. It’s restoration, and the same medically led thinking behind every plan at Marrelle, designed so you still look entirely like you.
I’ve also had anti-wrinkle treatment over the years, as many of my patients do. I’m always happy to talk through that side of things properly in a consultation, where it belongs.
