Some childhood experiences can remain fiercely etched in our memories.

And their emotional and psychological impact can be huge.

I’m 42 years old and this is one of mine that I have visited many times before but that has once again surfaced for me.

It has been purposefully triggered this past week as there is a lesson I am still yet to fully put into practice and embody, even though I thought that’s what I’d been doing.

And that’s to save, fiercely protect and choose my inner child over anything else…however hard that can feel, however much others can’t understand it and however much it hurts them.

It’s absolutely necessary I heal this now.

And my need to draw this picture this evening shows me yet again, how powerful non-verbal, authentic, creative expression is as a form of healing release.
