The contemporary massage brand designed to combat the negative effects of city-living

Photos from MASAJ's post 11/08/2026

Gerald came to massage through a fascination with how the body moves and heals... and that curiosity hasn't gone anywhere. Now a physiotherapy student as well as a MASAJ therapist, he brings a clinical eye to every session.

He works a lot with muscle tightness, postural imbalances and sports recovery; the stuff that builds up quietly until your body decides it's had enough. His approach combines hands-on treatment with mobility work, because getting you out of pain is only half the job. Moving better long term is the other half.

His advice for everyone? Don't wait until it hurts. Stretch. Stay active. Deal with the tightness before it deals with you.

Not sure which treatment to book? You're not alone - it's one of the questions we get asked most.

The honest answer is there's no wrong choice. Every treatment can be adapted to what your body needs on the day. But if you want a starting point, swipe through. We've broken down every treatment in plain English so you can stop overthinking and just book.

We notice it the moment you walk in.

The shoulders that are already up by your ears before you've even taken your coat off.

The jaw that's been clenched so long you've stopped noticing it.

The breath that's been living in your chest instead of your belly - probably for weeks.

The way you apologise for taking up space on the table.

The body that flinches at the first touch, not because it hurts, but because it's forgotten what it feels like to be held without needing to do anything in return.

The person who says ""I'm fine"" and means it, because they genuinely can't feel how not fine they are anymore.

None of this is a character flaw.
It's what happens when your nervous system has been running on high alert for so long that tension has become your baseline.

The good news? Your body knows how to come back down.
Sometimes it just needs an hour, a pair of hands, and permission to stop performing.
That's what we're here for. Book in via the link in bio.

This is In Their Hands. The series where we hand it over to the people who actually do the work - our therapists. Their approach, their philosophy, the things they've learned from years of working with bodies.

This week, Kyle. He has been with MASAJ for two years, and what he brings to the table goes beyond massage. He sees bodywork as one piece of a bigger picture; one that includes breathwork, movement and yoga as tools that work alongside treatment rather than separately from it.

Two years in, he's still finding new ways to help people feel better in their bodies. That's the kind of therapist we want in our rooms.
