The most valuable item in a makeup artist’s kit isn’t a brush, a foundation, or the latest launch.

It’s trust

We are trusted with faces, careers, milestones, insecurities, secrets, deadlines, reputations, and moments that matter.
The makeup washes off at the end of the day. The trust is what brings clients back.

Does anyone agree?

The Make Up Artist Journal is not just a journal. It is the tool we never knew we needed and now cannot work without.
As a makeup artist, your brain is constantly full. You are managing clients, bookings, looks, products, invoices, travel schedules, model lists, creative concepts and so much more. All of that knowledge, all of that creativity, all of that hard work deserves somewhere to live. Somewhere organised, somewhere beautiful, somewhere that actually works for the way we work.
That is exactly what this journal was built for.
Inside you will find everything from quarterly calendars to keep your season mapped out, face chart pages for planning and perfecting your looks, research and moodboard spreads to bring your creative vision to life, a model list so nothing gets missed on set, kit essentials pages so you always arrive prepared, expense and invoice tracking to keep your business running smoothly, industry contact pages to store your network safely, and schedule notes for your travel and on location bookings.
It goes everywhere with us. On set. Backstage. To fashion week. On the plane. It fits in your kit bag and it holds your entire career inside it.
MUAs who use it have called it their bible. And honestly? We agree.
This is the game changer your kit has been missing.

Let's talk about something nobody in this industry really says out loud...
Instagram makes this job look beautiful. The glowing skin, the editorial campaigns, the perfect flat lays, the backstage passes. And don't get me wrong it genuinely is all of those things sometimes.
But sometimes it is also this.
Sitting on the floor at 9pm cleaning every single brush after a 12 hour day. Chasing an invoice for the third time. Refreshing your emails wondering why you haven't heard back. Seeing a campaign go live with a team you worked with and quietly wondering why you weren't called back in.🤔
The lonely drives. The waiting around. The expensive kit updates. The late nights prepping. The early mornings nobody sees. The comparing yourself to other artists at 2am on social media and wondering if you are ever going to get to where you want to be.
I know we have all been there. Every single one of us. And nobody talks about it.
But here is what I also know.
There are days in this job that are absolutely everything. The email that comes in and takes your breath away. The client that cries happy tears when they see themselves. The set where everything just clicks. The moment you look at your work and think yes, that is exactly what I wanted to create. Those days make every single hard moment worth it.
This job is the good, the bad, the lonely, the uncertain and the most magical all at once.
So to every makeup artist right now who is in the in between between the amazing days and the hard ones we see you. We all feel it. And we all keep going anyway. 🖤
Here is to the artists. The ones who show up even when it is hard. The ones who do it because they genuinely cannot imagine doing anything else. 🤍
Drop a 🖤 below if you needed to hear this today. And tag a fellow MUA who deserves to feel seen. 💌
