Hello, Jon here, front of house at TONI&GUY Ealing and openly gay man. This month at TONI&GUY we are celebrating Pride, but posting the company logo featuring the colours of the Pride flag is simply not enough, I assure you there will be no lip service here 💄
Pride is not a branded holiday; to get lost in the sea of rainbow merchandise, LGBT Sandwiches from Marks & Spencer and Soho is very easy. But it is imperative that we understand our history and know exactly who to thank for the rights that we have today 🌈
The TONI&GUY logo has been split into three squares on our grid. In each square, I’ve included a handful of key figures of the Q***r community, some living, some passed, with a brief description of their being, but I invite you to carry out research of your own to get to know these people better.
A woman once said, “People’s fears come from ignorance, don’t they?” That woman… was Audrey Roberts on Coronation Street. Yes, you can laugh 😂 but education matters. PRIDE education matters 🏳️🌈 The more we talk about it and educate people, especially those who aren’t as accepting as others, we take another leap forward towards equality ✨
