The older I get, the more I realise that having my mum Aleya Islam beside me is a blessing I can never take for granted. 🤍

When I was little, I thought I needed her because I was a child. Now I understand that no matter how old I become, there will always be a part of me that just needs my mum.

Behind so much of who I am today are her sacrifices, her sleepless nights, her silent worries, her prayers and a kind of love that has never asked for anything in return.

Sometimes we become so busy growing up that we forget our parents are growing older too. That thought hits differently now.

So I treasure pictures like these. I treasure the ordinary moments, the conversations, the hugs and simply being able to stand beside her.

May Allah give my mum a long, healthy and peaceful life, and give me many more years to hold her like this. Ameen. 🤲🏻🤍
