This customer came to us with a solid black tribal sleeve that had a lot of purple, blue and green worked into it. It was something he had done a long time ago, and over the years the rest of his tattoos had gone traditional and neo traditional, so this one no longer felt like his.
He wasn’t after full removal. We fade a lot of tattoos for cover ups and this was one of them. The job was to take it down far enough that an artist could put something new over the top. Without the laser first, a cover up would have meant another solid black sleeve with nothing you could really make out in it.
A tattoo like this one is where the PicoWay earns its keep. We used the 1064 to hit the black hard, the 730 for the blues, greens and purples, and the 532 for the red sitting inside the purple. A lot of lasers would have struggled with it.
The blacks came away quickly. By the third or fourth session they were already patchy and his skin was starting to show through again.
The lovely cover up is by Mike Stockings at Legacy. A lady head with a feathered headdress. You honestly cannot tell there is anything underneath it, which is no small thing on a sleeve that was solid black.

Next week we’ll be filming on Tuesday 20 October and we’re looking for models.
We are looking for people who are happy being filmed and photographed. New and existing clients both welcome.
One thing to know. You need to have had a patch test with us before the 20th, so if you’re new to us, get in touch this week rather than next. Patch tests are free and take a few minutes.
You’d need to be comfortable being filmed during your session.
DM us if you’re interested.

“Expect some discomfort with removal, but Kelly made sure to go at my pace, stopping when needing to.”
That’s the part people don’t realise. You’re not strapped in for a set run, if you need a break, you say so and we stop. It’s your session.
Kelly only carried on when Beth was ready, and made sure she knew what to expect from each one before it started.
Thank you 🙏

Does it hurt? A bit, yes.
We’re not going to tell you it’s painless. It can be intense whilst it’s happening — but it’s over quickly, and for most tattoos the actual lasering is a few minutes or less.
To help make your treatment as comfortable as possible we always cool the skin before and during treatment. You’re also welcome to use topical numbing cream. And the patch test at your consultation lets you feel it on a small area before you commit to anything.
Being nervous beforehand is normal. It’s almost always the not-knowing rather than the thing itself, which is why we talk you through the whole process first and answer whatever you want to ask.

An update on one we posted back at 8 sessions. Here it is at 11.
That last stretch is often the slowest part. The bulk of the ink goes early and what’s left is the stubborn bit, which is exactly why we assess as it fades rather than working to a fixed number.
One of the main benefits of the Picoway is its ability to treat darker skin tones safely. Melanin absorbs laser energy too, so an experienced technician with the right equipment ensures the best results.
11 sessions on this one. Our general guideline is 8 to 12, and every tattoo and every body is different.

Everybody here has tattoos. Everybody here has tattoos they don’t like.
Pretty much everyone in the shop has had laser at some point, so we’ve all been on both sides of it — getting tattooed, and getting it removed. That’s not something you’ll find at most clinics.
It means when you sit down with us, nobody’s judging the tattoo or asking why you got it. We’ve been in the chair too.
Which one of yours would you have removed? 👇

“The complete removal packages are really great value for money.”

Our complete removal packages cover the tattoo for as many sessions as you need, rather than session by session. Most tattoos take multiple sessions, so giving you one price at the start means you know exactly what you’ll be paying before you start your treatment with us.

Kate M had been to two other places before us and has since had several tattoos lasered here.

Thank you 🙏

Nilly’s a stunt performer who’s removing two pieces so she can take work that wants untattooed arms, whilst keeping her other tattoos.

Not everyone removing a tattoo regrets it. Sometimes it’s just what the job needs.

Small tattoo. Twelve sessions.

Size isn’t what decides how long removal takes, location on the body plays a much bigger role.

Feet, ankles and hands have reduced blood flow and lymphatic drainage, and it’s that drainage clearing the broken-down ink. The same tattoo on a back or chest would likely have gone quicker.

Twelve sessions sits right at the top of our typical range of 8 to 12 for full clearance. Every tattoo and every body responds differently, which is why we won’t put a number on yours — we assess as we go and reassess as it fades.

Fully gone, and worth the wait.

Start now and you’ll be well into it by next summer.

Removal runs on your body’s timeline, not yours. Sessions spaced at least 8 weeks apart, multiple sessions to get there — so the work you start in September is the reason you’re comfortable in a t-shirt next June.

Most people come to us in spring, when they want it gone by summer. That’s the wrong way round.
