Wow! I did my first client 10 years ago today!!!🥳

What a wonderful 10 years it’s been running My Electrolysis. I’ve met hundreds of people, all going through different things. I’ve heard so much about your lives, been confided in more times than I can count, and I’ve also shared a lot about mine with you (maybe sometimes a little too much 🤣).

The connections I’ve made over the years make coming to work feel like catching up with friends.

So many of you have told me that electrolysis has changed your life, and every time I hear that I think... how lucky am I to have the privilege of helping people in such a meaningful way?

I absolutely love watching you grow in confidence and feel more comfortable in yourselves.

I’m also so grateful to have Sadie and Jade working alongside me now. I really couldn’t ask for a better little team. ❤️

Honestly, I can see myself doing this forever. 😍

Here’s to the next 10 years! 🥂

✨ Seborrhoeic Keratosis Removal- Before and Straight after removal ✨️

These before and after photos show the results after removing several seborrhoeic keratoses using advanced electrolysis.

Seborrhoeic keratoses are very common, harmless skin growths that often become more noticeable with age. Although they don't usually require medical treatment, many people choose to have them removed because they catch on clothing, become irritated, or simply because they don't like the way they look.

Using advanced electrolysis, these lesions can often be removed with minimal discomfort and excellent cosmetic results.

✔ Suitable for many benign skin lesions
✔ Quick treatment
✔ Minimal downtime
✔ Performed by an experienced electrologist

If you have a skin lesion you're unsure about, don't worry, we can advise whether it's suitable for treatment. If needed, we also offer Map My Mole, where your lesion is assessed by a consultant dermatologist before treatment for extra peace of mind.

📩 Send us a photo or message to book a consultation or to find out if your lesion may be suitable for treatment.

Here is a before and after picture of a lovely client that we have been seeing for the last couple of years, she suffers with PCOS and had been plucking for years!

The picture on the left is at the start of her journey and you can see a lot of hair growth plus skin damage from plucking and picking at the skin.

The photo on the right is around 2 years into her treatment and this is 8 weeks worth of hair growth, no plucking.

Now 2 years might sound like a long time but there is no quick fix that will get these results, you can spend a lifetime plucking, waxing, threading and shaving or....you can get electrolysis. We will get rid of your hair permanently"

"I'm so happy, it has been a long process and with hormone issues it is more of a steady battle. But the skin quality alone from not plucking is phenomenal"

the photos really show your 2 year time frame was correct as I am just over 2 years but have been spacing them out more and more for less time and now it's just touch ups and the odd hairs"

If you are ready to get started on this journey then message me 📩

📚 Two days of learning, networking and electrolysis! ⚡

A couple of weeks ago, I attended the annual BIAE seminar and workshop – two fantastic days dedicated to all things electrolysis.

One of the things I love most about these events is catching up with familiar faces from across the industry, meeting new electrologists who are just starting their journey, and sharing knowledge, experiences and ideas with people who are just as passionate about electrolysis as I am.

Even after almost 10 years in business, I still believe there is always something new to learn. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is so important to me, ensuring I stay up to date with the latest techniques, best practices and industry developments so I can continue providing the highest standard of treatment for my clients.

A huge thank you to the BIAE for organising another brilliant event. I'm already looking forward to next year!

✨ Learning never stops. ✨ Electrolysis never stands still ✨ And I still love this industry as much as I did when I first started!

✨ A little re introduction ✨

Hi, I’m Gemma, owner of My Electrolysis 👋
I’ve been running my business for almost 10 years now!!

I’m also mum to two boys, aged 13 and 5, plus our miniature sausage dog Darcy 🐶🧡 so life outside of work is usually busy, noisy and chaotic!

My passion for electrolysis actually started way back when I was 16 studying Beauty Therapy at college. We covered electrolysis and I remember seeing the difference it made to our college clients and thinking… wow, this really changes people’s lives.

After having my eldest son, I retrained in electrolysis and started building my business doing what I genuinely love.

Over the years I’ve also trained in advanced electrolysis blemish removal so I can help people with even more concerns, things like skin tags, milia, thread veins and other blemishes.

Fast forward to now and business is busier than ever, we’ve got so many lovely clients and I honestly feel so grateful that I get to do this as my job ❤️

What I love most about electrolysis is that it can work for everyone, and there is nothing better feeling then seeing a client start to notice a real difference… that moment where they realise “this is actually working!” The enthusiasm, the confidence growing, hearing how much of a difference it’s making to their everyday life… I never get bored of it.

Clients tell me all the time that treatment has changed their lives and honestly… that’s why I do what I do.

Best job in the world ❤️✨

Thank you to everyone who has supported My Electrolysis over the years, clients, followers, friends & family… I appreciate you all 🫶

Pics of myself and the cheeky monsters that keep me busy outside of work 🤣❤️

Happy International Women’s Day 💛

Next weekend I have the honour of speaking at a local International Women’s Day event about my journey running My Electrolysis and how the work we do helps women regain their confidence.

For almost 10 years I’ve been helping women who struggle with unwanted facial hair due to hormones, genetics, laser stimulation and other causes, alongside treating a variety of skin concerns, and one of the most powerful things I’ve learned is that so many women feel like they’re alone in these struggles when they absolutely aren’t.

I’ll be talking about the emotional impact this can have on women’s lives and how creating a safe space for them to feel comfortable in their own skin is something I’m incredibly proud of.

It feels very special to be sharing this on a day that celebrates women 💛

Happy International Women’s Day to all the amazing women out there 🥰

Everyone is welcome at this event 🧡

If you’ve been thinking about removing a skin tag, this is your sign 💛

Quick, gentle and permanent results 💕

Message me to get booked in!

24/02/2026

This is your sign to stop putting up with that skin tag!

I genuinely don’t understand why more people don’t get them removed… because it’s-

✨ Quick
✨ Easy
✨ Affordable
✨ And permanently gone

No creams.
No waiting.
No “living with it”.

Skin tags can be removed in just one appointment, and once it’s gone, it’s gone.

The biggest thing my clients say afterwards is…
“I wish I’d done this years ago.”

They’ve often spent so long feeling self-conscious about something that was actually such a simple fix.

If you’ve got a skin tag that catches, bothers you, or you’re just fed up of seeing it, you don’t have to keep it.

Message me to get booked in for skin tag removal📩

“How long will it take?”

This is one of the first questions I’m always asked, and the honest answer is: it depends on you.

Every electrolysis journey is different. The number of sessions you’ll need depends on things like:

• hair density and texture
• the area being treated
• previous hair removal methods (plucking, waxing, laser)
• how your skin heals between sessions

Some clients see big changes within a few weeks.

For full, permanent clearance, 1–2 years is completely normal ... because hair grows in cycles, and every follicle needs to be treated, sometimes more then once.

What matters most isn’t rushing.
It’s consistency.

Short, regular sessions done properly will always give better results than trying to do everything quickly.

That’s why we start with:
Free call → in-person consultation → a personalised plan designed around your skin and your life. No pressure. No upselling. You’re always in control.

🩵 “Six months in and I’ve made great progress.” CL

If you’ve been putting this off because you’re worried about the time commitment, save this post 💯

And when you’re ready to understand what it might look like for you, then you can reach out to us via the website or message me directly 📩

Permanent means there’s a finish line... and I’ll guide you there, step by step steps 💞

28/01/2026

So… does electrolysis hurt? Let’s be honest...

The short answer?

It really depends on you - your sensitivity, the area being treated, and the time of your cycle. And that’s completely normal.

Most clients find electrolysis very manageable.
The machine I use delivers a quick flash of heat, so the “zap” is over in seconds, which makes the treatment feel much easier and helps reduce skin reaction afterwards.

You might be a little red or slightly swollen straight after - that usually settles quickly.
If you’re ever uncomfortable, we can shorten sessions or use a numbing cream. There’s always an option.

What matters most is that you feel relaxed and supported. We can chat - and you’re always free to ask questions.

🩵 “We spend every session having a laugh – it takes my mind off it!.” CL

I’ll also talk you through aftercare so you know exactly how to look after your skin to avoid too much irritation. It makes a huge difference to healing.

If pain or downtime has been putting you off, save this post for later.

And if you want to talk it through properly, you can book a consultation or message me any questions! 💕

You don’t have to be nervous... I’ve got you 🙂
