Throwing it back to the gorgeous Harry Potter đŸȘ„đŸ”źthemed event I had the pleasure of attending last autumn, ahead of the new collection that is launching.

We did a spicy sculpt class in the most magical setting ✹ followed by a sound bath to soak up and the restorative vibes.

With summer starting to wrap up, I’m beginning to think about all the cozy autumn moments we will have coming up.

Which pieces are you most excited about from the new collection?

đŸ”„ Burning Pilates Questions, Part 3!

One of the questions I get asked most often in class is, “When should I move up to an intermediate Pilates class?” And the honest answer is... there’s no one size fits all approach.

Unlike academic curriculums, Pilates doesn’t have a set grading system or a checklist of things you must achieve before progressing. Instead, it’s about understanding your own body, building confidence in the exercises, and thinking about what you want to get out of your practice.

If you’re still enjoying your beginner classes, learning new movements, and feeling challenged, there is absolutely no rush to move up. Pilates is about quality of movement, not racing through the levels.

On the other hand, if you recognise the exercises, understand what they’re designed to achieve, and feel like you’re anticipating the next cue before I even say it, it might be time to challenge yourself a little more. That doesn’t always mean harder exercises either. It could mean adding a prop, increasing your time under tension, choosing a more challenging spring option, picking up a heavier weight, or exploring a more advanced variation.

One of my favourite things about teaching intermediate classes is that we can really start layering movements, challenging coordination, and building strength in different ways, whilst always keeping good technique at the heart of the class.

Remember, progression isn’t about proving yourself. It’s about continuing to learn, staying curious, and finding the level that keeps you challenged, engaged, and enjoying your Pilates practice. đŸ€

Have you ever wondered whether you’re ready to move up a level? Let me know in the comments, or ask me after class. I promise you’re probably more ready than you think!

“If it’s easy, it’s probably not Pilates.”
