Behind the scenes in our central London operating theatre, Jonathan and anaesthetist Oliver prepare for a twilight facelift with upper and lower eyelid surgery.
For this patient, the focus is particularly restorative: addressing facial asymmetry and soft tissue changes following previous maxillofacial surgery, with a carefully tailored approach.
Oliver explains how twilight anaesthesia combines conscious sedation with local anaesthetic. Patients remain able to respond to requests, such as opening and closing their eyes, while their comfort is closely monitored throughout.
