I’ll never tell you it was easy getting knocked down and hurt so many times in my life.
The hard days when I felt like I wouldn’t make it…everyone I met let me down and it seemed like every decision I made just hurt me-
Those are the scars that I think about every day…
But that pain, failure and anguish that tried to tear me apart?
It didn’t..
It just made me stronger, wiser and braver.
I think often about those scars -reminders of darker days, harder times and broken hearts..and I promise myself every day to never stay down, never quit and to never stop believing in myself.
I won’t tell you it gets any easier, because no matter how much pain I’ve endured, how many times I’ve clawed my way out of rock bottom…
It’s still gut wrenching and hard every time.
I may now finally have the strength and motivation to push through the storms and battle my way past the pain, but it’s been an uphill battle every step of the way.
I used to wish for easier days and more sunshine…
But now I know that the journey is just part of my preparation for bigger and better things..
And I’m not stopping until I reach the top.
I look in the mirror every day and stare at myself and remember those deepest of cuts..
